We stayed at Hotel Montcalm in August 2013 during a bicycle trip on the Frederik Meijer Trailway and found it to be delightful. The check-in takes you back in time with a bell at the counter and a friendly, helpful owner hand-writing your receipt. The Hotel is stocked with antiques and has large sitting area and library on the second floor. We stayed in Room 11, which was roomy, very clean, had comfortable bedding, and many antiques. It faced the main road in Stanton, so there was traffic noise, but not bothersome with the air conditioner on. A restaurant on the main floor adjacent to the hotel recently opened, and we had an excellent authentic Italian dinner. The owner of Mamma Mia! is from Naples and uses fresh, local ingredients and I highly recommend lunch or dinner there. Also, breakfast is included in the hotel rate.
