I recently attended a family reunion at this hotel. On the website, I reserved a room described as executive suite with a king bed, sleeper sofa, two tvs and a refrigerator. The desk clerk told me the room descriptions were incorrect on the website. I had only requested a king bed with the sofabed as optional. After stating there were three in my party, the desk clerk changed my room to a room where there was a King bed and a sofabed. The room was smaller then rooms with two queen beds. My husband had a scooter that helped make the available space smaller. The sofabed was not made up and there were no linens in the room for the sofabed. My husband asked if a different room could be found. He was told by the desk clerk that the hotel was full. The room I reserved would have accommodated my guests and I. We were crowded in the room. The desk clerks did not offer to move us to a bigger room if one became available. I did not feel that I received excellent service from the staff and was very unhappy with this experience.

After a long drive this hotel was a welcome relief. The staff was very friendly. They gave me a room on the executive floor for the AAA rate. One thing I liked was the layout of the room. My pet peeve with any hotel, is a door that allows light and noise in from the corridor. In this case the bed was behind a dividing wall which blocked any light from coming in from under the door. In the morning I took advantage of the hot breakfast served in the Executive lounge. It was a mixture of healthy and not so healthy choices served fresh with Star Bucks coffee.

My only concern was the location. I think that if I didn't have a GPS I would have had some trouble finding the place once I got off the highway.

I love this hotel, me and my family stay here several times throughout the year. just to get away!

Room tip: Top floor is always best! Although the ground rooms give you access to the courtyard through the sliding glass doors of your room. If your a smoker the ground level would be best, cause you can open the sliding doors and step right outside.

The service staff at this hotel are superb. They deliver personal service way beyond the norm to make you feel welcome and will accommodate individual needs by addressing your personal requests.

The downside is that the Wifi is unusable. As a regular guest staying here for business I cannot get adequate Internet access. The connection drops every few minutes and is much slower than 3G access.

The menu in the restaurant would benefit from a few more healthy choices. What they do have is quite good and the breakfast buffet is great.

Delta screwed up (surprise surprise) stranding me in Detroit. I got to the hotel after 11:00 PM. Check in was quick, got my corporate rate without a problem. The restaurant had already shut down but they were still able to come up with a quick meal in the bar. They provided some basic toiletries. Rooms are the standard Marriott layout, but it was clean and crisp. Stayed there many times always consistent.
