Our family loved staying at The Last Resort B&B. The Innkeeper, Mary, was so welcoming right away and immediately we got a sense of her love of what she does there, of her Inn, and of her guests. She has decorated the Inn with charm and personal treasures. She was always looking out for our best interests and enjoyment. She never hovered over you, but was always available for you and ready to give recommendations to local places and events as you asked her. Her husband Alberto and their staff were always friendly and gracious and made us feel right at home. The location is wonderful. Easy walk to the beach and to the harbor. Although a bit further to town, still and easy and enjoyable walk. Several nice "living spaces" available inside and out. Great to sit on the front porch with some Lake view or back deck with some harbor view for breakfast or snacks.

Room Tip: Ask about Lake or Harbor views, not all, but some rooms have them. Mary actually offered us a room change midweek when our daughter's stay with us was over and it was just the two of us, and we took it for Lake view and king size bed.

Mary and Alberto are the friendliest people you would ever want to meet. Superb hospitality and everything is within walking distance. Our first time experience with a bed and breakfast was
a great one.

The Good: Mary is a wonderful hostess and makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The location is perfect. Nice walk to various locales and right across the street from the beach. Great parking. Clean.
The Average: Breakfast lacked a wide variety of foods, but what was there was fresh and tasty. Alberto made delicious banana walnut bread, but it was mainly a Continental breakfast. Would have loved an omelet or an offering of muffins, pancakes etc.
The Bad: I'm sure it is because we are not familiar with staying in a historic home but there are steep stairs to the upper floors, a TINY bathroom..the shower is not good for claustrophobics, and the sink was in the bedroom. The sink was so tiny my husband could not fit his razor on the side while he was shaving and there was no place by the sink to hang a towel.

A wonderful getaway place that makes it easy to relax. The location is great for what ever you like to do. Walk across the street to the beach or out the back for the Marina and wonderful town of South Haven. We walked everywhere we went and truly enjoyed our time at this beautiful B&B.

a wonderful, cozy place to relax. We stayed in a suite with a balcony overlooking the harbor with our son and daughter-in-law. It was the perfect set up for the four of us.
Mary and Alberto are both artists and their art is displayed througout the breakfast room.
