My wife and home-from-college daughter and I spent the day in South Haven and went to Clementines for lunch. After a short wait, we were seated in the lovely old building and served by a young man who, despite his youth provided excellent service. My wife had seen an order of onion rings go by, and suggested we get an order. I had also seen that they had fried zucchini, which I love and hadn't had in several years. We got both. We also shared a salad and each ordered a different kind of sandwich. We ended up with food to take home for another day's lunch. All was very good and well-priced. But what we enjoyed the most were the onion rings and zucchini. Both were delicious, and went well with the house-made ranch dressing and dill sauce. But of the two, I have to say, the onion rings were the best I can recall ever eating. Delicious, crunchy batter on sweet, still slightly firm onions. Don't pass them up.
