When we stopped in at 9 one Sunday evening, Taste was hopping. We were surprised to see so many families eating dinner so late. But when we looked at the menu, we saw that people could opt for small servings, just to tide them over till breakfast, in addition to full dinners. Interesting concept, and one that served us well at that hour also.
Another evening, we went back to Taste at a normal dinner hour and had more of a real meal. Again, portion sizes were just right. We each combined two small plates to make a flavorful meal. The menu is eclectic and fun. During our two visits, we enjoyed the tilapia taco, chicken skewers with cilantro lime crema, hand-rolled sushi, catfish, Caesar salad, and French fries. All were excellent.
Some menu items are marked Gluten-Free, or able to be adapted to Gluten-Free, but if you’re celiac, I recommend asking if your food will be cooked in a dedicated section. I say this because their French fries are labeled G-F but they don’t have a dedicated fryer.
We also very much enjoyed the ambiance at Taste. The music was mellow and folksy, and even with many patrons talking, noise levels felt calm. On both our visits, service was friendly and prompt.
