“Succulent steak house”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2012 via mobile

If you've looking for a quiet but not stuffy steakhouse then choose Sophie's ! I had the best pork chop with glazed red onion mushroom and Gorgonzola topped crust!
My husband commented that his filet was perfect! Service was outstanding! Very attentive without hovering . I would recommend this to anyone that looks forward to a lovely meal and doesn't object to spending a few extra $$ above a classic South Haven pizza!

“The City has come to the country!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2012

Oh. My. Goodness. We summer near here every year. Dining is iffy, until now! We arrived at 5PM on a Thursday in summer high season -- parking lot was empty, is this place awful??? Greeted by charming host and waitress. dining room is large with comfy padded booths. Music was great!--Eagles etc but not too loud. Johnelyn (sp?) brought a tray of steaks to decide on and explained how they can be prepared. They are US Prime, wet-aged (not that gross dry-aged cheese flavor). My son and husband had Caesar salads and the filet. They are picky, and both said the Caesar was outstanding (house made dressing and croutons). I had the beet, greens, goat cheese, and spiced walnut salad--and I would go back just to have that salad! I had the Delmonico steak and it was juicy, tender, cooked exactly as I asked. My men loved their filets. The location is a little hard to find--north of South Haven--but SO WORTH IT!! Perfect Cosmo too, full bar.

“pricey for the look inside”

this is great food, a sister to Tello Restaurant but very pricey for the atmosphere and service... not many people there, needs fresher bread!

“Good meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2012

Visited on a Saturday night in April, arrived at 6:30, and were seated within the 40 minutes they promised. However, there were open tables during the wait that did not seem to fill. We waited in the bar, which seats about 10, so one of us had to stand most of the time. You need to want steak in order to eat here, limited menu other than steaks. It took about another 40 minutes to be served after ordering. The filet was good, prepared to order. Sides were adequate. Service was good, other than the kitchen seemed slow. This is a rather small restaurant, so I would imagine you will wait during the summer season.
All in all it was a good dining experience, probably one of the better steak houses in the area. They will be challenged if another higher end steak house opens in the area.

“A winner!”

Great aged beef and nice atmosphere. Let's hope the owners continue on the right track, as they have some other establishments in town that are not dinner worthy.
