Despite the dollar bills plastered all over the walls, the light staff, and the abundance of mounted critters, this place has great food. The pasties are delicious!

We had heard about this place but the signs were misleading and we spent nearly an hour trying to find it. As it turned out, it really wasn't very far from Munising and we were glad we had persisted. The decor is kitschy and fun. We had the pasties, of course, ad they were delicious. We considered returning for dinner but decided to try something else

We came here because of the online reviews and we were hoping to miss the weekend crowds in Munising. Although we were seated quickly and our order taken, it was at least an hour before the food came. The soup and salad bar had some (possibly) homemade chicken noodle soup and some iceberg lettuce and dressings. Really, that's it. We had to invent forks and ask for place settings twice. No apologies for the slow service; no offer of anything to compensate for the delay. The food was so-so - just deep fried fish and I doubt it was fresh. The decor is cute, but skip this one and eat elsewhere.

The Bear Trap Inn is located approximately 15 miles East of Munising on Co road H58 which is a beautiful paved road that takes you to the various hikes/beaches and lighthouse areas on the S. shore of lake Superior.
The wait staff is friendly, quick service and the food is very good. I recommend the U.P. Pastie - it's the signature food of the U.P. of Michigan. It's what the Copper miners carrined with them "back in the Day".
