Seney has 95,000 acres and is a wonderful place to visit if you enjoy birds and animals in their natural habitat. We had a grand morning with Jim, a volunteer, who took us on a drive thru the refuge and pointed out many birds and animals and was a wealth of information.

This nature preserve is well worth the visit. It is home to all manner of critters including bears, wolves, fox, and a large variety of birds- some of which use the preserve as a stopping ground on their migration route. The volunteers that run the information station are knowledgeable about the park and the area and will help you pick a good route depending on your interests. There are well marked, easy to follow trails located near the information station as well as a 7 mile drive - through- with plenty of observation stations along the way.

Awesome place to view wildlife. We had a magnificent tour with a guide (Ronnie) who would point out birds and other interesting wildlife. They showed us a 15 minute video before the tour of the Refuge which was very informative. The Staff are nice, knowledgeable, and helpful!! Great place for everyone of all ages!!

We stopped on the way through and we ended up spending a lot of time there, the staff at the visitors center were terrific.
The wildlife is amazing, we saw all kinds of stuff, Loons, Swans, you name it.
This is a must stop if you are in the area, We plan to go back when we have a few days to explore this vast refuge.
Make sure you have bug spray or you will get eaten alive..

The facility is staffed by well-informed volunteers who readily give ideas for wildlife viewing. We took the auto tour and found it well marked even to the point of posts with arrows which indicated where to find various bird nests. There is an active osprey nest visible from the deck behind the visitor center.
