Take a couple of hours for a lovely drive in the country. Pass deer and farms as you head southeast of Kalamazoo - down 36th Street into Scotts. There's a little four corners and that's where you'll find the locally owned and operated, Scotts Corner Café. This historic brick building is a picture postcard of the older Michigan businesses and you can expect to feel like family and friends from next door.
With that said, the small, sometimes inexperienced staff and cook, may take a little longer than usual to get you what you need. While you wait, Bonnie & Mark, the owners, will check in on you and make you feel at home. Wrong order? They'll fix it. So take a newspaper, a good book, or enjoy fun conversations with your group while you wait. Wi-Fi and cell phones don't always work, but isn't that the point of heading out to the country?! :)

Good food, small town atmosphere, this has been one of our "go to" breakfast places. Our service has always been good and we like the presence of the owners, they are always chatting and making us feel welcome. We have not tried lunch but sure we will enjoy the food just as well.

This is a terrific breakfast/lunch diner open Tues--Sun. Situated on the north end of the Village of Scotts, it is well worth the 10 minute drive from Portage or Vicksburg. We've been there 6-7 times now and the meals have always been great. There's two connected dining areas--both which have large windows facing 36th St. The atmosphere is quite open, with plenty of natural light, and tables/booths are well spaced so you don't feel crowded. Even when busy, the service has been excellent and I never had to flag anyone down to refill my coffee. I highly recommend the San Antone Scramble for breakfast. Lastly, they have speciality coffee/tea made to order which can easily rival any of the big coffee chains. Not much to the Village of Scotts besides this and the county park. A great find in Kalamazoo County!
