“Great Sandwiches Good Beer”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2014

My family and I stopped in Greenbush coming back into Michigan from a long Chicago weekend. Greenbush was highly recommended by a good friend and an expert in micro-brews. We were greeted by a very friendly staff (and loud music). The atmosphere was rustic, in a very appropriate way. There was plenty of menu options for lunch. The sandwiches we ordered were terrific and the beer we had (two light summer brews) were very good. The pizza, however, was burnt on the bottom - though my kids ate the cheese and toppings. Overall, the atmosphere, sandwiches and service were excellent. Definitely, a good lunch stop when traveling on I-94 in Southwest Michigan.

“Stop by for a Beer & a Bite to eat.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2014

We have been here several times since 2011. Since that time Greenbush has grown in size and popularity. Despite some growing pains this place has flourished and is a must to visit in Harbor Country. Food choices are great. The BLT is one of the best with fresh flavorful tomatoes, crisp mixed greens and of course smokey house made bacon! All the house smoked meats are wonderful, tender & smokey. Skip the Mac & cheese. The pasta is mushy and it's just too heavy. The daily specials are usually good. It is a small kitchen so occasionally they run out of things. As for the beer...it's delicious and has wonderful flavor overall. Get the sampler on your first trip. They all have creative names, but it's not the names that brings us back it's the beer. There seems to be a lot of fruit beers this year instead of some old favorites like sunspot & traktor. Having said that, these are not your typical fruit beers. Try Emptiness(apricot) or Funhouse Commies( cherry). Be prepared to wait on a Saturday or Sunday, even weekdays in the peak of summer season. Try the Annex across the street for great deli meat & cheese. Hopefully the liquor license for the Annex arrives soon!

“Beer, BBQ and a I94 Oasis”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2014

For 30 years I have driven to southwestern MI, and I wish I would have know about Greenbush earlier. After a 3 hour mind numbing commuter through construction traffic, Greenbush is an oasis for beer and food lovers. The street is lined with cars from Illinois. On a Friday night, we were seated in 15 minutes. Yes the place is crowded, but consider all the other I94 restaurants, its worth the wait. We had 4 different beers, little 4 oz glasses. All were excellent and our servers were very happy to assist us. We stay on the side patio, which was fine, no trains came by.
I had the bbq sampler plate, very tasty, But the 2 sauces were lacking, wish they had another option. We also had a Cubano sandwich and cucumber salad, which was good.
I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable bill. We will be back to try it again. Hope the Arclight brewery crew catches on to the food service. Plus the nursery is very nice next to the brewery.

“Phenomenal Food and Drink”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2014

Did not expect to find the quality of food or beer in a town as small as Sawyer. We ordered a sample of several beers created in house, all were great and the bonus was excellent food. The BBQ sampler was terrific and enough for two, all of the items ordered by our party of 12 were good, all winners. Service was also good, short wait but not a problem.
