“Number 1 for a reason”

We stopped for lunch and were approached immediately by our server. We had a cheeseburger and a veggie sub. Both were delicious! The onion rings were also great. it is a little hard to find, but worth the effort.

“A "Must Do" Restaurant Experience”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

My 2nd favorite place in the Soo to eat - especially if I'm hankering for a burger. You'll be transported back to the 1950's, and everything there is made to order and outstanding. Either eat in your car or on one of the 5 spots inside. An "institution" in the Soo, and I make sure to get there as often as possible every summer. Make sure your kids experience West Pier. They'll never forget it!! And you get a dynamite view of the freighters as they prepare to enter the Soo Locks.

“Now That Was A Burger”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

Using Trip Advisor recommendation, we had to find this place for lunch. All the earlier comments are correct, your GPS will not easily find this place. It will get you close...but you still have to hunt a little. It is along the locks, just west of the International Bridge, under a small bridge and by a condo complex. Whew!

An old-fashioned drive-in as the waitress comes out to you car and takes the order and returns with your food on a tray that hangs on your window. Service was very good and the turnaround for food was quick. The burgers were awesome and huge. We had the fried pickles (outstanding), fries (good) and onion rings (just so-so) along with the burger. So much food that we had to walk up and down the locks after eating.

“Great food!”

Stopped here after visiting the locks. The burgers were huge and delicious. The onion rings were out of this world. If you order it with the works, you will be a sloppy mess.

“worth finding”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

I had read it was rated as one of the best hamburger places in Michigan, but we couldn't find the street on our map. While on the Soo Locks tour we asked the Captain and he said he ate there 2-3 times a week and told us how to get there, and we still almost missed it. But I'm glad we found it. It is a little shack off the river by a condo complex which we were turning around in when we found it. I had a cheeseburger with onion rings. My husband was going to order a double when the waitress says, "You know that is a pound of meat?" Needless to say he got a regular. They were very juicy and had a lot of add-ons. But you only need 1 order of onion rings to share; we didn't finish our orders. It was nice having them do the carhop tray on the window too.
