“History aboard a Great Lakes Freighter”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

The retired Valley Camp Great Lakes Freighter dry docked in Sault Ste. Marie MI is a great attraction, giving you the opportunity to feel the lifestyle of the sailors living on board. It gives you a great deal of history about the ship, and allows you to see all the areas of the ship from the wheel house, to the captains quarters, to the cargo bay and engine room. Well worth the time

“Very Interesting”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

The ship is just down the road from the locks, very easy to get to. The information in this museum is amazing. If you enjoy maritime history this is the place to stop at. Loved it!

“Fun on board a freighter!”
Reviewed September 25, 2013 via mobile

We spent about 2 hours exploring the Valley Camp. Definitely worth the visit! There are informative maritime history displays in the cargo holds. I enjoyed walking on deck and seeing the crew quarters and the wheelhouse. Great place to learn about shipping on the Great Lakes!

“Great museum”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

We enjoyed visiting the Valley Camp. The exhibits are well done. You get to get everything from cargo hold areas to cabin quarters. It really helps you to seee what life was like on a freighter. I think the exhibit is best for families with children at least 10 years old. It isn't a place to have little ones running around. There is also a lot of information to read and it's nice to be able to take your time.

“Edmund Fitzgerald lifeboats a plus”
Reviewed August 31, 2013 via mobile

You could spend days at this site. It is nice that you can leave and come back later in the day. The lifeboats from the Edmund Fitzgerald brought the wreck home. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
