Beechwood Manor Inn & Cottage
Ranked #7 of 24 Saugatuck B&B and Inns
Reviewed June 12, 2013

The Beechwood Manor Inn is my favorite B&B to date. They really go the extra mile. It's in a beautiful location just a short 5 or 10 min walk from downtown. The large front porch is great to hang out on and relax with your partner. We stayed in Saida's room and while it was the small room, we didn't mind at all. The large bay window makes it feel much bigger, it has a nice sized bathroom and I was surprised that we couldn't hear anything outside our room with how old the house is. Rooms have aircon, tv with movies on demand, a cute little fireplace and bear-claw tub in the bathroom. The bed is very comfortable and soft. However, our favorite bits were the little things that are done for your enjoyment and comfort. Such as the ready-to-to beach bags made up with towels and umbrellas you can borrow or the fridge stocked with pop and water and snacks available whenever you'd like. Also, the breakfasts there are to die for! When you arrive you get a paper to hang on your door for each night you stay that allows you to select your breakfast the next morning. 3 choices are given but you can mix and match as much as you want. I have never had such a filling, gourmet breakfast at a B&B. I just can't say enough positive things about them. And let me note, I tend to be picky about B&B's, so I'm not just saying this lightly. Next time we visit Saugatuck,we will be staying at Beechwood Manor Inn.

Room Tip: Saida's room, while smaller, does not share a wall with the other rooms so it is quieter.

We have stayed in other BnBs that we liked.... This place is just superior. Food, owners, room and location could not be better. Choices for breakfast just yum! location, walking distance to town. We can't wait to come back. We are already talking about our next trip here. It was just perfect!

This B&B is just gorgeous. We arrived much earlier than expected and while Jamie was getting our room ready, we walked the town and loved everything about it. The B&B is a short 5 min walk to the town. It's a very dog friendly town which we loved! Went back to the B&B and Jamie showed us to our beautiful room. The room and bathroom was very very clean and loved the old tub. The bed was so comfy as well as the pillows. Towels were super plushy. Loved the complimentary bottle of wine! Lastly, the personalized breakfast door tag was a nice special touch. Even though I forgot to hang our breakfast selection on the door the night before, Jamie was kind enough to text me that morning to know if we wanted breakfast. The breakfast was delicious...have to say the potato pancakes were great! All in all, a wonderful experience. Saugatuck is beautiful and I can't wait to return in July 2013 with my girlfriends to stay in Jamie's cottage.

Had a fantastic time! Scott & Jaime were wonderful hosts & VERY accommodating. They were so thoughtful & friendly. We stayed in the cottage out back, which had all the amenities you could ask for. Tastefully decorated & EXTREMELY clean. A beautiful area & a definite must-see. I give these gracious hosts & their B&B a 5 star!

We returned to the Beechwood Inn again this year--and it was better than ever. We were warmly greeted by Jamie who showed us to our room, the Enid room. It was roomy, and soft music was playing on the TV. There were a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine on a table by the window. Since it was chilly outside and raining, we decided to stay inside, reading and knitting. After our picnic dinner in our room, we chose a movie from the almost limitless selection offered through the TV. We had a wonderful night's sleep in the superbly comfortable king-sized bed. Breakfast was tasty and beautifully presented. We had chosen eggs benedict with crab and asparagus. A beautiful fruit cup was served first, and delicious bread. Since it was still cold and rainy, we decided to stay in the inn-in our room or the comfortable room downstairs next to the pantry. In the evening we ventured out to the Everyday People's Cafe for a delicious dinner. Then back to the Inn for another relaxing evening and good night's sleep. We had a gourmet burrito, with fruit and bread for breakfast. We left after breakfast, full and happy. It was still raining-and Scott carried a big umbrella to keep us out of the rain on the way to our car. The Beechwood Inn is superb in every way!

We are just finishing a get-a-way at the Beechwood Manor and where very impressed by the very friendly and luxurious Inn. This historic B & B has been restored with today's comfort while showing off the charm of the late eighteen hundreds. The owners do everything to make you feel at home with friendly, efficient service and serve a gourmet breakfast we did not expect. By partnering with the Everyday People Cafe, which is definitely an outstanding restaurant, it completed our stay. Overall our experience was excellent and we definitely will be back.

My husband and I bought a Living Social deal for this B&B because we it included a $50 credit at the Everyday People Cafe, which we visited before and LOVED. We're so glad we did! We stayed here at the beginning of March, which was cold and snowy, and since we were there from Tuesday to Thursday, many of the shops in downtown Saugatuck were closed, and we had the run of the Manor, being the only guests! We loved the daily menus where we could choose our breakfast for each day (different & delicious both times!), we loved the comfy bed and the "fireplace" (which is one of those electric space heaters that looks like a fireplace). We did venture out to the coffee shop & dinner, but we spent a lot of time just lounging around in our lovely room. The bed was comfy, and we enjoyed the freedom to just watch movies (although the TV was TINY and it was very hard to hear) and read all week. Having the little snack cabinet downstairs is such a nice touch. The wine and chocolates were delicious, as well. We didn't meet Scott, but we really enjoyed chatting with Jamie - it felt like we were staying with friends rather than at a "hotel," which was fabulous. There were only a couple of things that weren't great - the TV, which I mentioned (and if we had been there in the summer we probably wouldn't have even noticed), the waffles I had for breakfast the second morning were a little too crunchy (although everything else was delicious), and the bathtub was too small to really take a bath in (and I'm only 5'4"!). However, those things were very minor, and we would definitely stay here again if we go back to Saugatuck!
