“Nice Location, Rooms Could be Better”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

The common rooms are on the river and are relaxing. The breakfasts are way high in carbs.
I would suggest spending the extra money to stay in the upgraded king bedded rooms. You will be a lot happier. All the rooms in Suagatuck are expensive. The owners could have spent just a few dollars to make the lesser expensive king rooms much more comfortable by providing additional storage.

Room Tip: The B&B is located on the Kalamazoo River. That does not mean your room is on the river. The less...

My husband and I just spent a couple nights here and we loved it! It's conveniently located in downtown Saugatuck right on the river and has a beautiful view. Although our room had a view of downtown (not riverside), we ate breakfast out on the riverside where they also have some tables set up for guests. The food was delicious! One day we went across the river to their sister resort to use the pool...so refreshing on a hot summer day! The staff were very friendly and accommodating and gave lots of great suggestions for dining, etc. We stayed in room 2 and thought it was great. It has a king size bed and a spacious deck where we had some wine and played games. This B&B is fairly priced and we would absolutely stay there again.

We were not impressed with our room, #2. It was small and a bit boring...no color on the walls. The deck overlooking town was big and we enjoyed sitting out there. The shower was a corner unit and once again I found myself standing on my head to shave my legs. The bed was comfortable, except when I got out of bed the next morning. The pillow-top had slid and when I rolled over to get out of bed, I fell on the floor! Don't expect to sleep in, it got very light in the room when the sun came up.
Breakfast was a step up from a motel. There was a breakfast casserole and fruit muffins and fruit bread and a bowl of fruit as well as the usual motel items. You could sit at the table in the dining area to eat or take your food outside or back to your room.
We saw a room with a bedroom area and living area as we were leaving...maybe that room would have been better.

My fiance and I stayed at this B&B this past weekend for our engagement, and we had the best time! The inn was so accomodating for us, they put champagne in our room after we got engaged and were so happy to help with my food allergies for the breakfast. It has a great view right on the lake, we were in room 6 and even had a private balcony! We can't wait to go back again!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 6, which was up a few flights of stairs but had its own private balcony and a grea...

Such a lovely guesthouse, right on the river and a short walk to the centre of town. Absolutely loved the deck by the river where there are lots of tables and chairs and a hot tub. We sat out with a bottle of wine that we bought and had the most relaxing time.

The room was super clean and comfortable. We had one of their standard rooms upstairs. We had a big terrace that was shared with one other room facing the lovely street (very quiet and lovely to look out on). I did catch a peek at the more expensive river view room and it looked amazing, with a sitting area in the room as well as a fantastic view. I'd get that room if we went back again.

This was the best breakfast from a guesthouse or hotel that we had the whole trip. They leave out coffee and tea making facilities all day and leave out afternoon treats at 3pm I think it was - delicious cookies on the day we were there.

They really have thought of everything. There's free wifi, a computer downstairs and dvds you can watch, and boardgames.

They had their own parking bay right outside.

I must say that Kathie the innkeeper was so helpful and friendly. She was a real pleasure to meet.

The town itself is very sweet and has plenty of cute shops and restaurants and a few bars. I would definitely recommend travelling out to the dunes if you have a car. The beach there was beautiful.

Just back from an extended weekend getaway and absolutely LOVED the Bayside Inn. Char was a real delight and so very friendly. Our room (Suite 9) was perfect -- so clean and comfortable. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast, but enjoyed a little snack Char left out for the guest in the common area.

Still quite cold (I hear Spring is on the way!), so we made us of the fireplace after some time in the hot tub. We thoroughly relaxed, which is exactly what we were looking to do.

We will definitely return.

Thank you, Char, for making sure we were comfortable and enjoyed every moment of our time at the Bayside!

Twelve family members spent the weekend at the Bayside for their murder mystery dinner & it was a wonderful experience. We were celebrating a 50th birthday and the inn sent that person a bottle of champagne. The hosts are very nice & accommodating. They go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. The dinner was well-organized, food was great & the other guests participating were all delightfful! The rooms are lovely & very clean. There is a fireplace, drinks & snacks always available. Breakfast is a good variety of fresh fruits, yogurts, cereals, muffins, coffee cakes along with a baked strata, etc. A great inn for a quiet relaxing stay or enjoy the fun when they offer a special event! Would go again!

Room Tip: Room 1 is lovely with a sitting area. Room 6 is very roomy with a good view. If you have children on...
