What a GREAT stay! Beautiful gardens, awesome rooms, fantastic owners! The breakfasts were out of this world and the comradery of Jan, Gary, and the other guests was very inviting and comforting. The downtown, with shops galore, was in easy walking distance and even the sights in Hollard were just a short drive away. Many unique restaurants and attractions in the area make this the perfect stay over location for anyone we just wished that we had been able to do just that.

On the positive side the rooms downstairs are nice, and large, you can sleep 3 easily, and it's only about 2 block to downtown. On the negative side the steps to the second floor are very very steep and hard to navigate a suitcase. The front porch where meals are served is small and cramped. Worst of all, the Inn keeper was rude, she didn't want to tell us what she was serving for breakfast and when I told her my husband couldn't eat eggs she said "we don't do customizations, too bad". No children are allowed unless you rent the whole house -- all three rooms.

Room Tip: stay downstairs

When my daughter graduated from high school last year, a dear friend suggested Sagatuck as a perfect spot for the two of us to relax and reconnect. We spent 4 days and 3 nights at the Marywood Manor and shared the Oval Beach suite, which included a bedroom with a king-sized bed and small living room with sofa bed, kitchen table, fireplace, flat screen TV and a small private bath with a shower. The suite was restful, comfortable and nicely decorated. Each morning innkeepers Gary or his wife Jan would arrive early to prepare a delicious homemade breakfast such as homemade granola, fruit and bagels, and breakfast cassrole, which we enjoyed on the screened porch where we planned our day. Gary was especially helpful and fun to talk to and had lots of good suggestions for ways to fill our time.

The Marywood Manor is in a great downtown location and an easy walk to the lake, shopping, galleries and restaurants. My daughter and loved it and would definitely recommend it to others.

This location was perfect and the street was very quiet. The Oxbox suite was very nice and we slept extremely well up there by the glow of the faux fireplace. Breakfast was great and the hosts were very nice and accomodating. I would definitely stay here again! I also suggest hiking up Mt. Baldy's 300 plus steps and hitting up the shop outside of town called AMSTERDAM.

Just a few steps away from the best restaurants, the magic of the harbor, and the many interesting galleries and shops, this place is a magnificent retreat. Fabulous breakfasts, sumptuous accommodations, a gracious garden and an easy pace put you in comfortable command of your holiday.
