My wife and I spent two wonderful weeks at Lake Shore Resort, and once again it has impressed us as a near-perfect gem of a summer resort. The grounds are manicured to a high degree, rooms are comfortable and well appointed, great breakfasts, and always the Lake view and beach. The property is situated along a residential road of beautiful lakefront homes. We're just crazy about it, and plan to return next year and for as many other years in the future as we possibly can! Truly a great value!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the property have umbrella tables and chairs, as well as Adirondack chairs, on a nice day, these are also the least expensive rooms I believe.

Just returned from this property. It has everything you need for a great stay. The room was nice and had plenty of storage space. The view of the lake was nice also. The private beach has a few steps to climb but it sure is worth it. They have tables, chairs and umbrella's for your use as well as kayaks if you feel like paddling along the shore. They also have bicycles you can ride up and down the quiet shoreline drive. We didn't get to try out the pool even though it is heated because it was just to chilly out. There are plenty of shops and places to eat along the waterway in Saugatuck. We enjoyed the Mermaid Bar and Grill. It has waterfront decks to enjoy eating outside and the food was great both times. The sunsets were stunning from this lake front property, don't miss them.

At first, I did not want to write a review, fearing the word would be out on this spot.

This is truly a gem worthy of a great review. The resort is hidden away at the end of a lake front road, but only minutes from town. The resort itself has been impeccably maintained and your hosts do a great job at making your stay enjoyable.

Although the rooms are simple, they have been completely remodeled and are kept very clean. Little things like the in room refrigerator make it nice, but the rooms are not the main reason for visiting this resort - It's the view.

The grounds are very well maintained and the attention to even the littlest detail has not been missed. The views from the bluff above Lake Michigan are breathtaking, but nothing compared to the 600 foot private beach. Did I mention the lounge chairs and umbrellas just waiting for you - oh yea, plenty for everyone too. There are many spots for a couple to enjoy the scenery and have some private space.

I would not recommend this resort for families, but if you're looking for a place to get away and relax, you can not go wrong here.

We are already looking forward to our next visit.

What a most excellent spot. Close enough, but far enough removed from the tourist activities. The grounds are extremely well kept, the staff is very friendly, helpful and always available. The pool is crystal clear, and open just about dawn to dusk. Breakfast was nice. Our visit was just right. We will be back.

One bit of advice, bring along some bug spray for the beach. While the beach is lovely, the bugs can get a little annoying.

We spent three days last summer and we are returning again this year. The beach area is wonderful and the area is so peaceful. They serve a great continental breakfast every morning. The Lake Michigan sunsets are spectacular.

Room Tip: Call them early for reservations.
