Butler street was a "happening" place. The are lots of shops and restaurants to visit. You can park your car and walk. Loved it.

I have been here twice and it is right on the water. The Butler has a great history about it that you can read about while you wait for your delicious food.

Butler street is full of a variety of stores and restaurants. The area also extends a block or so out from Butler street. There is a variety of stores to visit. I purchased a t-shirt from a store which silk screened the design while you watch. The owner was a friendly man and we chatted about dogs and life as he worked. There are stores with apparel, fudge, pet supplies, drug store, and many more all within a few blocks. The Del Sol store carries items which change color in the sun.

This little town has some very interesting shops and art galleries. They are run by the owners and are not chains that you see everywhere. It makes shopping much more special, we think.

We spent an enjoyable day in Saugatuck while vacationing in nearby Holland and enjoyed every minute of it. There are so many unique and interesting shops on Butler Street that you can literally "shop 'til you drop." We enjoyed browsing in all of the shops, and being a lover of all things jewelry, I ended up adding to my ever-growing collection of gems by buying jewelry items in two of the stores. I also bought some delicious strawberry preserves at American Spoon Foods, too. And we especially loved the classic retro soda fountain in the Saugatuck Drug Store. Walking the streets of Saugatuck, and in particular, Butler Street, is a very pleasant way to spend the day.
