We walked around Butler street quite a bit while on a recent weekend getaway to Saugatuck. It's a very cute and charming street which is the main street in town. Lots of cute little shops. We found a really neat oil and vinegar store that had so many different varieties of olive oils and vinegars and definitely had to take a few home.

A hot sunny afternoon in Saugatuck and the streets were lined with cars and the sidewalks lined with visitors. Nevertheless we easily found parking on Butler Street and were soon in amongst the visitors browsing the various shops.
There are no chain stores on Butler Street just a selection of highly individual outlets selling art, souvenirs, beachwear or food. One of the treats is to encounter the smell of the freshly baked cupcakes but to then gradually lose that as you pick up the irresistible aroma of fudge and popcorn and so on as you venture down the street.
Unless you are minded to buy something the whole street will only take 20-30 minutes but the parking lasts for 3 hours and so there is plenty of time to wander down to the riverfront and enjoy a drink in one of the various bars and cafes.

Enjoyed browsing the offerings by the local artists. Many of the shops are typical of what you would find in a tourist area.

Nice view. The prices were a bit on the high side for the type of food we ordered. Soft drinks were only allowed one refill and then you had to pay for additional refills. I had the butler burger it was just okay. The others had the perch and said it was good. I would recommend you trying The Butler while visiting.

Such a pretty little town.loved browsing through all shops, cafes and restaurants.if you have small kids then take them on the chain ferry.
it takes you across the kalamazoo river.there is also a duck tour and cruise boat which takes off about 3-4 times a day for about an hour.
lots of things to do and see can easily spend a day here and then there is always oval beach not too far from here to watch the beautiful sunset over lake Michigan.
