Description: Since 1986, Ida Red's Cottage has been serving Made-from-scratch breakfasts and lunches, year 'round. Our little place is a busy one, and our kind of cooking takes time, so expect to have to wait, sometimes a long time, during the summer season.

Have been here a few times, but always seem to get the angry waitress. I realize it's a hard job, I've been doing it for quite some time too...but a smile might kill this girl, sheesh. For your own safety, don't ask for anything substituted or altered.

Ida Red's has been a family favorite for years. It is a great place for breakfast, I personally love their raspberry muffins. Yum!!

Charmng little diner that serves breakfast and lunch, but breakfast is what they do well. Always busy and waits are frequent. Like a light breakfast? Have "the Betty"...a home-made muffin, scrambled eggs and fruit. Want egg beaters? Forget it...only fresh eggs here.

Ida Red's has the heartiest, most delicious breakfasts on the planet. Go early to avoid a line, and take note of their somewhat eccentric schedule. The scrambles are huge and awesome, the muffins are to die for...service is always good and efficient. Worth a wait, even if there is a line.

We live 10 miles north in Holland, MI, but drive here most Saturday mornings for what we consider to be the best breakfast place anywhere. The omelets (scrambles) are large and wonderful with lots of interesting varieties. The whole grain pancakes are great. The muffins are fresh made and reflect seasonal fruit available. (If you are lucky enough to hit one of the 2 or 3 weeks of peach muffins you MUST get one!). Our favorites: "The Betty" - scrambled eggs, a muffin, and a fresh fruit cup; and the Asparagus Omelet - especially during the weeks of fresh Michigan asparagus season - which comes with your choice of toast. These people know how to make an excellent breakfast with the best fresh ingredients. The decorations reflect the seasons as well. Eat outside on the porch during the summer. Anyone who can run a restaurant Wednesday through Sunday during the summer, Thursday through Sunday in the other 3 seasons, 8 AM to 2 PM for all these years has their act together. Cash only so be prepared....or walk across the street to the ATM in the store. This place is the best!
