“WOW!!”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

We came up to visit St Joseph beach for a long weekend and were told by quite a few to try this pizza place. We are so glad we did. Service was friendly and done well. Pizza was excellent!! Our wait at 5 pm was about 35 minutes, the wait was even longer around 7pm so come early or late if you don't want to wait, or try carry-out. We tried the Sicilian pizza (which had salami, sausage, green olives, and torn basil leaves.) It was really good! We are sure to return to Silver Lake beach again, and when we do this will be a place we are sure to visit again!

“Great pizza with a view”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

Loved the crisp crust. Very timely service even when absolutely packed on a Friday night. Ordered a side salad which was crazy good for a pizza place.

“Who Knew?”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

The kids wanted pizza and it was right by the beach (and in a train station, which my son loved) so we figured why not. Who knew they would have delicious pizza? The wait was a little long but worth it. We will visit again on our next trip.
P.S. The staff gives the kids a cup of raw pizza dough to play with upon being seated. The kids went crazy over it. Genious!

“Best pizza I've had in a long time!”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

We were up in Michigan visiting friends on vacation. We came to St. Joseph for the day, did the beach, the Whirlpool Compass fountain (both great in themselves) and then wanted to eat. Our friends highly recommended it and they weren't lying!

First of all, the restaurant is in an old (but still active) train station/depot; if you're lucky a train might roll by during your meal. But the restaurant has a great atmosphere of its own. It can get pretty crowded during the summer so plan accordingly. Also, if you drive here and can't find a place to park, they will credit you the $5 parking fee from the lot across the street (if you bring your receipt). We paid to park at beach so we didn't utilize this amenity.

The adults went for the Whirlpool pizza (pepperoni, sausage, ham, bell pepper, onion, tomatoes, black olives) and the kids had basic pepperoni and cheese. Absolutely phenomenal! It's party-pizza style and more than enough. Their appetizers looked great as well but we did not try them. They also have many beers on tap. I had the Bells Oberon, local ale (you've always got to go for local flavor, right?). Oh, and we had nine in our party and we still were able to get a seat and good service.

Apparently Saint Joseph used to be a big beach resort back in the day, but if you are in the area, you've got to go to Silver Beach Pizza!

“The best pizza this side of Chicago”
Reviewed July 9, 2012 via mobile

I have had pizza from Chicago. It was ok. This pizza is the best around. Be ready to wait for a table. However, they now have a walk up window and purchase by the silce. If you are anywhere near St. Joseph, Michigan do not miss out.
