I think we stayed in a different hotel than the one the negative reviews are about! Almost didn't stay here because of them but decided to take a chance and am very glad we did. The location is great; within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and the lakefront. Staff was very accommodating. We were on the fifth floor and the room was clean and fine. Not spectacular but fine. King size bed. All for $70, including the hot breakfast. We were here for a wedding and some friends paid double to stay elsewhere! Glad we didn't.

We were going for a girls weekend in search of wineries and shopping. We found this hotel online and booked it. It was a great deal $100 for one night. The hotel was very close to the cute downtown shops and dining. It was very clean. It was a little dated and the hotel bar was less than expected. It was a much younger crowd and we were looking for a nice place to have a few drinks. The staff was very friendly and it also included a free breakfast. We were with in walking distance to the lake. I didn't see any hotels closer to the downtown area so the location was probably the best aspect of this hotel. We were about 20-30 minutes to the wineries in SW Michigan.

We stayed here because it was close to downtown, and it had an indoor pool. The pool was over chlorinated so bad it burned my eyes and i had to get out. I told a maint. person who tested the water. The management staff seemed mildly apologetic, offered no discount. The room was filthy, fingernail clippings on floor, hair in tub. Breakfast was not too good. cushions stained, tables dirty. They need to upgrade cleaning procedures

Yes, the hotel is aged, but the staff is awsome! Yes, it's a little spendy, but you are close to the beach, and everywhere I've stayed coast to coast, I've had to pay to be close to the water or have a view. We had an older room, but we only slept in it........being that close to the beach, shopping, wine tasting, and good food, who spends that much time in a room? It was realatively quiet, and I for one, had not problems at all. I would stay there again!

Room Tip: Higher floors are better

This hotel's best selling point is the wonderful black out shades in the rooms. It is close to the beach but beware it is loud. Lots of families with young children. The rooms are adequate but not worth the money.
