Nothing to get real excited about except that is great view of Lake Huron and the pool was absolutely packed with kids. Rooms were average--plenty of pillows but on the noisy side. Typical Days Inn

Read the reviews before making reservation, but the reviews were so old that I thought maybe the issues mentioned would have been taken care of by now. Then the review of someone staying over the 4th of July came in (unfortunately after we had made our reservation) and I became really concerned. Couldn't get reservations at any other motel in the area - with a room we could afford - so we went to the Days Inn hoping for the best. It is the worst Motel we have ever stayed at. We were on the lower floor (E151) and it smelled like an old wet basement in the halls and our room smelled TERRIBLE. It was supposed to be a non-smoking room. It was obviously a smoking room not too long before we stayed there. There was even a burn mark on the tub where someone had laid their cigarette. I questioned this at the front desk and the Manager himself said it was a non-smoking room and did not offer to make any changes. We had to spray perfume every day just to tolerate the smell. Fridge was VERY small and sitting on the floor! 1 cup coffee maker was sitting on top of the fridge. We had to sit on the floor to use either appliance - yuck. Continental breakfast was not anything to get excited about either, other than the lady who ran it being very friendly. It also opens up too late. Two days we needed to leave at 6:30-7:00 a.m. - it didn't open until 7:00 a.m. We had to grab breakfast elsewhere on the way. Needless to say, we cancelled our 4th night as we just couldn't stand the place any longer and booked a room for less at the Best Western in Petoskey, MI - which seemed like a President's Suite compared to what we had just experienced at the Days Inn in St. Ignace. Don't waste your money - there are much nicer places for the same price, or even less - you will just have to make reservations early during the busy season!

This is not a very nice hotel. My family and I stayed in a 2 queen bed suite. There were stains on the box springs of both beds (not sure what they were and don't think I want to know). It looked like someone blew their nose on the inside of the bed spread. Walls were dirty. Sliding balcony screen door was very hard to open. Wall paper was peeling off. It looked as if some of the walls near the ceiling were water damaged. The game room consisted of 3 very old video games. The pool was ok at best (water was very cloudy and cement around pool was poorly patched). The write up on the room mentions a fold out bed in the living room. It was a $99 futon that was in very poor condition. The hotel it self is not maintained very well (many bulbs in stairways burned out and cob webs on the fixtures, to many other things to list). I read many reviews on this hotel and was leery about booking a room. I called the hotel and spoke with the person at the desk and expressed my concerns and he assured me that the rooms were top notch and said that the have won the chairmans award several years in a row. With this being said I trusted all would be ok and the other reviews were just picky guests. I wish I would have listened to the reviews. I would have left this hotel and went to another but they were all booked due to the July 4th weekend. We used our own blankets and pillows and toughed it out. This is not a $180 a night hotel by any means.

We, my sister and our adult daughters, stayed at the Days Inn while traveling to a wedding the following day. We originally booked the 3 queen room but they upgraded us to the 2 bedroom suite with a separate living room. We stayed in this room a few years ago, and it is great!! Each bedroom had its own balcony. The staff was great, complimentary breakfast was very good, and the pool and hottub were wonderful!! Perfect temps! They have a casino shuttle if you're interested. Beds were so comfy with tons of pillows!

This hotel was in a perfect location at the water's edge . Every room was waterfront with a private balcony that overlooked Lake Huron. Large room with a big picture window that faced east. On clear mornings the sun rose right over the lake in brilliant shades of orange, pink and blue. Loons floated by morning and evening. Our biggest thrill. Small refrigerator and coffepot. Very clean upon arrival but the maid service was poor. 1 day she did not clean at all, the next she simply took the dirty towels, did not empty trash or make the beds. 3rd day after several complaints the room was cleaned properly. Modest continental breakfast, juice, cereal, bagels, fruit adn coffee.
