“Best kept secret!! WE WILL BE BACK!!!!”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

What an amazing place to stay!!! We booked the hotel just based on the reviews from trip advisor. So very glad we did!!!! The room was HUGE! We had been to 4 other hotels during our travels just wish there was a Village Inn at all the places we stayed! We were a little worried about being over the restaurant/lounge but we heard nothing all night. We highly recommend staying here. The staff was very friendly. We also ate at the restaurant and amazing food down there too! When you go ask for the balcony rooms the views are amazing!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for the balcony rooms there are only 4 so book in plenty of time!!!

So glad we were steered toward this hotel! Clean and quiet with a friendly staff. Right above a restaurant/bar and super close to area attractions. If you need a reasonably priced place to lay your head in St. Ignace, this is it!

Awesome little find. Although the building looks ok from the outside, the inside is utterly awesome, great big rooms, all new linens and towels and at a fantastic price. Staff are very friendly, down home and helpful.

When browsing hotels online, you never know what you're going to get. This is the best hotel in St. Ignace! The location is perfect. We could walk to all the shops in town and the Star Line Ferry (railroad location) terminal was right across the street. We walked over about 10 minutes before the ferry left for the island (we had already printed our tickets online.) We also walked across the street onto the pier/light house boardwalk for the fireworks on Saturday night.
The Inn has a nice back entrance that we used all the time and our room was towards the back of the hotel. This was actually nice and we were totally fine not having a balcony room. Given that we could just walk outside and go across the street to the whole boardwalk/pier area we didn't need the balcony. Go downstairs to eat, the best food was served here. We actually ate dinner here twice because it was so good the first time. We had pizza, stuffed salmon, whitefish and the special (a seared tuna dish) and they all were SO good. The staff was super friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a place to stay in St Ignace that is affordable, this is for sure the place. What we paid for two nights would have been the cost of one night in the name brand hotels and those were not within walking distance to half the stuff we did. The rooms are your typical hotel rooms have seen better days but the towels and bedding were clean and so was the bathroom. What more can you want? They also have a fridge for any leftovers/beverages. Can't say enough good things about this place. Would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Recommend a room towards the back. We overlooked the East Side (opposite the main parking lot) and...

My husband and I just checked out of the Village Inn on our way up to the Houghton/Hancock area. Gail was spunky and welcoming, the room was very clean and had all the basics. We stayed in one of the balcony rooms with a view of the lake. Location is terrific within walking distance of downtown shops. The morning traffic was a little noisy but we had the sliding door open for fresh air. We were very pleased with our stay and recommend this hotel.

Easy check in and out. The room was clean. Kids loved the balcony room. We were lucky to be there on a Saturday night when St. Ignace had fireworks in the harbor. Restaurant downstairs served delicious food.

Worked for Marriott for 40 years and always stayed at a Marriott but last night we stayed here and it was 100% top quality. The manager and staff are the greatest? Super food at the restaurant also. You will be happy you tried it.
