When we got to this small cafe there were only two tables occupied, one family was done eating and waiting for the bill, the other was being served dessert. There were two girls working and after waiting 10 minutes for someone to take our order we walked out. There was no obvious reason for this as our waitress kept walking by us and only acknowledged us when we first got our water, after that we were invisible. I was very disappointed as I had read some good reviews for this place. There should always be a responsible adult around to make sure customers are taken care of, none was in site.

From friendly service to fabulous food...this is how all restaurants should be! We went several times for breakfast -after the first visit there was no question of trying anywhere else. We had the crepes and omelettes - both were fantastic. Coffee was very good too. Joe is an extremely energetic person with joie de vivre that is contagious; he definitely enjoys his work, and everyone else there was also very nice. The decor is kind of a 60's-ish beach theme with funky bright colors, parrots and ocean memorobilia on the walls (and lots of teapots), and a retro van out front. You can buy old-time candy, crepe mix and roasted coffee, and I think all the teapots were for sale too.

First time there greeted enthusiastically by Joe. Coffee was the best and they kept it coming. Coconut pancakes alone are worth the trip. Then you have things like Nutella Crepes or Lobster Omlettes. For dinner the mac&cheese with choice of lobster, shrimp or chicken is not something Kraft makes. Food sounds simple and in a way it is but the selection is so vast I have done a disservice mentioning any of the items. The menu is printed on a small newspaper and reading all the choices and making a decision from the many choices proves quite a hurdle. One thing I am sure of is that you will love whatever you have and the staff will be friendly.

We had breakfast at Java Joe's twice. My friend loves crepes and thought that their crepes were good, as he had them two days in a row. We had pancakes and omelettes. They were good. We had lattes, and everyone seemed to like them. We did have a disagreement among us about deep dish pizza. We ordered the deep dish pizza with lots of toppings. It was not what we expected. I thought that the toppings were good, good sausage, lots of sauce and cheese. One of us didn't like the pizza at all. In general, the pizza crust was the weak link on the deep dish pizza. We will definitely return there for coffee and breakfast. The staff is nice. Joe, the owner, was there directing traffic in the mornings.
