5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

This was our third visit and we've always been treated well. This time we booked two rooms in the motel side of the property and the rooms were spotless and well priced. You can't beat the location for convenience. I love sitting on the porch and watching the world go by. The outside is in need of a paint job, but don't let that discourage you, the people are wonderful and the rooms are clean. I'll keep going to this place every time I go North.

Made reservation online and Chris answered promptly, and after one e-mail . Made a later addition and Chris made the change promptly. We had 18 in our group, and not one complaint and many expressed a desire to come back!
The B&B portion is full of antiques and charm, led by the warm greeting by Chris. The hotel portion was quite comparable to some of the national chains, but retaining an individual charm.
Because we had a sizable group those staying in the B&B did not choose to eat breakfast there but it looked and smelled delicious.

Would recommend this for an enjoyable stay and is across from ferry docks and close to local shops and eateries.

Skip the chain hotels and stay here. My husband and I stayed in the bed and breakfast part of the inn. Our room was more than spacious, plus it included a nice sitting room with small fireplace. Too bad it was so foggy during our stay, because this inn has a great view of Moran Bay and Mackinac Island. Lovely Inn, delicious breakfast!

We needed a place to stay at the end of a day on Mackinac Island, and this inn filled the bill. We had the choice of staying in the bed and breakfast or in the hotel. We opted for the hotel because it was less expensive ($79 for a king deluxe). The deluxe room turned out to be the size of a small apartment! The decor didn't meet my personal taste, but it was scrupulously clean and we cozily drank a bottle of wine in front of the electric fireplace. Don't let the peeling paint on the outside chase you off. This inn is a winner.

Room Tip: The king deluxe was an amazing deal.

We stayed 2 nights over labor day weekend and found the Inn charming and the hosts very accomodating. At first glance the exterior may make a person think twice, but the interior is nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. And as a plus, it is so close to everything: the Arnold Ferry Boat line is right across the street, the fireworks can be seen from the Inn, and the shops, park, and restaraunts are located on this street as well. Except to go take a picture of the Bridge at night, we didn't have to use our vehicle. We stayed in the Maple Room which was clean and cozy. We enjoyed sitting on the second floor balcony drinking our morning coffee, or in the evening eating our dessert from one of the local restaraunts, while watching the ferry boats. We would definately consider staying at the Inn again.

Having spent many years stopping in Mackinaw City for hotels, and using a major chain, we decided to head to St. Ignace. Room rates were very reasonable, especially for Labor Day weekend were you often have to book at least two days for any room. It was not the case here. We arrived to a host that was both friendly and informative of what to expect in town and in our hotel room. He even showed us a room in the house, as we will be traveling to see our son during the winter, and only the B & B is open. The outside may need some paint, but it doesn't distract from the warm welcome and friendliness of the owners. The cleanest place by far of all our travels.

Room Tip: Room 11 is spacious and romantic with the fireplace.

While the exterior is run down; the inside of the house is nice. The absolute best part is the amazing balcony on the second floor that looks out over the lake. We spent a wonderful night with another couple enjoying conversation and the view.

The breakfast was so so. The host, though brief, seemed accommodating. The price cant be beat for a B&B

I am giving it a 3 vs a 4 as I am an avid B&B traveler; and although accommodations inside the house were nice and the host was nice; it didn't seem to have the extra edge most bed and breakfast do of house history or area excitement or attention to details.

For a nights stay though you should not be disappointed
