This hotel had the worst hospitality I have ever experienced at a hotel. If you have young children with , this is definately not the place for you to stay unless you are the employees children who were behind the front desk and obviouly just got out of the hotel pool when we checked in. Front desk workers made you feel like you were a complete bother and were quite rude. We felt as though we were unwanted guests in "their" home. Bathroom in pool area was backed up and the front desk lady's response was, "it's not my job". Our group tried to enjoy a pizza party in the "breakfast area" with 2 desk clerks watching our every move. Don't count on the free "breakfast" to feed your family. Our group actually tried to move to another hotel but they couldn't accommodate all of us so we unfortunately stayed there a second night. Rooms were very outdated and obviously not "professionally cleaned" as you would expect in a room you pay almost $100 a night for. This Super 8 is not recommended!

We stayed at the Super 8 Motel in St. Ignace on Sept 4 & 5, 2010. The service we experienced is THE worst i have ever experienced or heard of.

The toilet got clogged and we notified the front desk in the morning of Sept 5, 2010 before we left for the day. When we came back at night, the toilet was still not fixed. I went to the front desk and the lady handed me a plunger to go fix it myself. I told her i would rather not do it myself. She said that she was the only one there and that i would have to fix it myself. I mentioned that I had notified them in the morning and that I am not willing to fix toilets during my vacation. Her answer was "Geez, I will do it for you".

Having paid a little over $300 for two nights, I expected much better service. In the future, i will avoid any Wyndham branded motels/hotels.

This hotel has a fantastic view of the Mackinaw Bridge. The rooms were clean but need updating i.e. the bedding, couch (which was stained), chairs. The bed was comfortable but the bedding a bit shabby. The balcony was grungy - covered in old indoor/outdoor carpet and needed to be replaced. The pool area was clean but some paint was peeling on the walls. Outside pool area has a deck that is directly situated next to old cabins. The main entrance smelled funny. Breakfast was spartan and the coffee like dishwater. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Plenty of towels available. Wi-fi was spotty. Hallways smelled musty. A little TLC would make this a place I would go back to again. This could be a nice property if things were updated.

We stayed at Super 8 for Friday and Saturday (Aug 24-26). If we go back we wont stay on the St. Ignace side! The hotel is nice looking. The entrance has double doors and it smells like something has died in between the doors. The best option was holding your breath until you were inside the building. The elevator had the same odor. Our room was quiet and large. It was slightly odd though, the refrigerator was unplugged and the air conditioning was turned off. There was a horrible odor from the fridge. The pool area was nice. It wasn't ever crowded and it was quiet comfortable. The paint on the walls was peeling but nothing too serious. They have a deck off of the pool area with 2 storage sheds that someone started to paint and then never finished it. The breakfast was okay. There were only 3 tables to eat at so people were standing around eating. Breakfast ends at 9 am so I'd suggest you go early. The restaurants in St. Ignace are horrible. They're not very clean. The "mystery spot" is also a waste of money. Overall our stay wasn't horrible but there were things that could have used improvement.
