Found a diamond in the rough! Stayed in the snowflake cottage, it was comfortable, clean, and had more than we needed! Felt like home ! The owners and staff are wonderful- we will be back! My son dropped his necklace down the drain in the bathroom, and in no time, the staff had the pipe torn apart, and the necklace retrieved! There is a restaurant and bar on the property as well, very nice too. Great location-

Room Tip: A great mom and pop place !

We really enjoyed our stay here! Could not believe what a great deal for the price! Good location, clean room and friendly staff. We will be back!! The fireworks on Saturday nights is a nice touch! The only thing to improve would be the brightness of the light bulbs in the room. A little too dim for us. Other wise we highly recommend this motel.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review our motel. I am glad that you appreciate our prices, location, and cleanliness. We hope that you are able to visit us again soon! Also, the bulbs that you mentioned are a low wattage, energy saving bulb, but we also think they are too dim, so are looking for a better option.

We had a very bad experience at The Beach House in Mackinaw City and we had looked at staying here when we were planning our trip. Luckily they had a room available for the last 2 nights of our stay. Very nice room with fridge and coffee. Service was great. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Being from AZ I had never tasted an olive burger and I am now hooked. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Check-in was noncomplicated, room was in excellent condition, modern and exceptionally clean and the food was excellent... try the shrimp! Awesome meal! Only downside was the internet was not working. Not good for the business traveler but it was assured to me by staff that the situation was being looked into. It was nice to find a relatively nice place to stay that was reasonally priced that in addition had a restaurant/bar attached. Will definitely stay here again and would whole heartenly recommend this place to everyone. Staff did a great job making you feel welcome. Great job Driftwood!

Room Tip: All rooms are nice.

We stayed in the Snowflake Cottage, part of the Driftwood Motel, for three nights. There were 5 of us, but the cottage easily sleeps 8. There are 3 bedrooms--one with a queen (or double?) bed, 2 with 2 twin beds each, a rollaway, and a sofa . There is a kitchen (spacious and clean), a small dining area, a large living area, and a bathroom with tub/shower. The cottage's furniture looks very new, and the whole cabin was meticulously clean. The beds were very comfortable. There were 2 grills outside, in the back yard, and a nearby picnic table. The front of the cottage has a small deck with a table and chairs. There were 2 stalls specifically designated for the cottage, as well as ample parking for a boat or other vehicles. The cottage had tv/cable, board games, magazines, etc., for a rainy day. It is located across the street from the Star Line boats that go to Mackinac Island--no need to move your car. The motel's restaurant /bar is steps away--we enjoyed a late-night pizza there. The motel also gives gambling credits for the nearby casino, about 3 miles away. There are views of Mackinac Island and Lake Huron from the backyard of the cottage. One section of the Driftwood Motel is adjacent to the cottage, separated only by a driveway. The only very slight negative that was a bother was that one night (Saturday) a group of college-age people were there and had a party till midnight, but we did not complain, so management would have been unaware. The Driftwood is a fairly large complex, with an L-shaped motel on one side, the Restaurant in the front (on the street),, and another smaller motel section (annex) on the other side, along with the Snowflake Cottage and another large unit called the Loft. If you are going to St. Ignace with a large family, this Cottage cannot be beat. We visited from June 14-16, and the rate was only 99. per night, a 3-day stay special.

Room Tip: All rooms are across from Lake Huron and the Star Line boats to Mackinac. There is a city beach abo...

Just spent the weekend up in Mackinac Island MI...the Driftwood was a delight! Only 10$ for my dogs to stay (total...not per dog or per day!). The hotel is directly across the street from the ferry line..just hope on and go over to the island! Clean room, larger bathroom, plenty of fluffy white towels, coffee maker, mini fridge...what more do you need?? We ordered the home made pizza from the restaurant - it was great! We will definitely come again, it was the middle of June during the Lilac Festival on the island and our room was only 56$/night for 2 queen beds. Did I mention this place is a deal??!! Thanks again Driftwood staff...we will be back!!!

Room Tip: We were in room 118, across from our window was the community ice maker...people used it in the even...
