This inn was fine. Our room was across from the pool which was noisy until about 9:30pm and you did get a chlorine smell when you opened the door. I didn't see the "spa" but I did see a tanning bed. Breakfast was acceptable. No major complaints

Allowing pets made the difference for us. We took advantage of the "walk in rate" (which was still a little high in our opinion, but probably comparable to summer rates). Dog was $10 extra, and 19-year-old was considered an additional adult and was also $10 extra. $100 for 4 of us (plus dog) for 1 night in July. Room was clean and nice, although we could have used a couple more towels. Pool was nice for the kids but highly chlorinated. Location is great. Ample areas to walk the dog. We would recommend if you need a nice little motel while enjoying beautiful St. Ignace.

Room Tip: Poolside rooms obviously have lots of pool noise, although there is a 10:00 p.m. curfew for kids in...

Stayed here on my last trip to to the UP of Michigan. Not a bad little hotel. I certainly would not put this in a resort category, but for a nice night or two stay to explore the area of St. Ignace, MI (And absolutely BEAUTIFUL destination!) it is quite nice and convenient. I would stay again.

My husband and I stayed at the Voyager Inn on May 26th. GREAT VALUE for the price! We paid $59.99+tax and this included a good breakfast, and use of the pool/hot tub. Although popcorn is offered for free every night we didn't get a chance to partake in that (although we could smell the yumminess.) We originally had 3 that were going to be staying so had a room with 2 queens. The bed we slept in was comfy and my husband slept all night which is unusual at a hotel. The bathroom looked newly remodeled. We were VERY happy with this hotel at the great price. And for anyone interested, ATVs are available for rent by the hotel.

I'm currently staying two nights here during a pond hockey tournament and am not impressed. Well, first management used the fact that most of the hotels in the area are full to charge $150 plus (the other hotels were charging $70-100) a night for a room that would have been shady back in the 1980's. Everything is old; the TV is, at best, a 1980's style 20'' TV for which the remote didn't even work. There was mold in the bathroom, the mirror was scratched, TP in the toliet and everything looked like it was bought out of a garage sale. I wouldn't of cared had it been a $50-70 room, but for a $150 room, come on.

We asked management to move to an inside room, which looked better, but they wouldn't move us and, as we had pre-paid for the room, wouldn't refund our money. Simply put, I hate to bash a locally run company, but don't stay here, there's a million better options out there

Chris,
Sorry you felt this way, We strive to accommodate all our guest to the best of our ability. Pond Hockey is a very large event for our little town and our price is based on the number of guests in the room and compared to other hotels with the same amenities in our area. Yes, you may have found a cheaper hotel with no pool, hot tub, or breakfast and if this is what you desire for that weekend i suggest you talk to your group leader who booked this room.
Your group leader was informed of the rustic nature of this particular room a long time before your arrival, given it is not attached to our main building and used mainly as overflow on busy weekends we have only begun to upgrade these rooms. We strive to update our rooms every year and have recently installed new beds, bed spreads,&TV's in our main building and new bathroom flooring in our annex building including the room you were assigned.
In regards to you request to move, even if I had a room available, being asked to move on a Saturday night after my cleaning staff left , just because you wanted a bigger TV was not a reasonable request for that day.
Thank you for your comments
