My friend was bitten up one night by some kind of bugs. Bed was completely changed and itching stopped. That night I was the meal for the bugs! My skin is still crawling! Think I will do stay-cations from now on.

We stayed here to take a day-trip to Mackinac Island. Convenient to town & island ferries (by car). The carpet was very dirty; if you walked barefoot and then got in the shower, you made black footprints in the tub.

Good location -- about a half-mile walk into town. Clean, nice room, short on amenities though. Owner gives 20% discount to seniors which he defines as "over 50". Good deal. He pushes everyone to eat at the Galley, ignoring the restaurant next door and others in town. Pushed too hard for me so I ate elsewhere. But otherwise a nice helpful owner who wants to take care of his customers.

stopped through here for the night, got a room in the "lower brick area" which is code for old rooms. well my friends came in behind me in their camero and magically a room was available with a view in the other section of the hotel. On the way out from getting our room the one of the windows was open and I heard the owner (assuming this) say see when you see someone like that come in you put them down in the L section because those rooms are already beat up so they can't mess anything up. my friends invited me to their room and I have to say none of their rooms are ok, the wifi is low fi at best and being profiled because I have an older vehicle and wear jeans and a t-shirt is unethical in every way. I keep my house cleaner than this mans rooms and am proud of that fact. totally rude! drive a nice car if you want one of the lesser dirty rooms here. he also keeps you in the office for about 20 minutes telling you about every road in the UP that has anything on it. great if you have 20 years to vacation but I didn't ask for a history lesson just a bed for the night and barely got that.

Room Tip: drive a nice car and nice clothes!

We stayed here for three nights during this year's car show. We found the motel very clean. The staff was very helpful. The room was not fancy but extremely clean. We will be returning next year. The location is great and the price was good.

Room Tip: Back side is quieter

We stayed her one night on the way up to the UP, and then also on the way back. Good price, simple but clean. Nice restaurant nearby. Owner was very helpful, suggested what to see in the UP. Would recommend highly.
