My husband and I travel to the Mackinaw area every year, but this year our grown children and four grandchildren went with us. We stayed at the Comfort Inn Beachside in St. Ignace, Michigan. What a wonderful place. We had beachfront rooms with beautiful views of the lake. Our rooms were all side by side which made it great for our grandkids to visit with us. They range in age from 8 months to 3 years and it was a great place for them. They loved the pool, the beach, and the playground. Our rooms were very clean every day. The staff was very helpful when we needed any assistance. I recommend it for anyone who wants a great place to stay with very good rates. I would also recommend that anyone staying there to try Java Joe's Restaurant. It is just across the parking lot. What a neat place that was. Food is great also. The complimentary breakfast was also very good at the hotel. Kids are early risers, so it was a good place for them. It opened early for those who get up early. We will definitely make a return visit to the Comfort Inn. We plan to go back this fall, just my husband an myself this time. I hope this helps if you are looking for a great place to stay.

We loved the Comfort Inn on the beach. The view was incredible and our room was clean, comfortable and the hot tub was very relaxing. The breakfast issue wasn't a really a problem. If walking a few hundred feet is cause for complaining then you probably don't want to vacation around here or on Mackinaw Island because you do alot of walking. Besides, walking is good for you!!

We stayed 3 nights at the Comfort Inn Beachside in St. Ignace. The room was in poor shape, with a large stain on the carpet, a hole in one of the bedspreads, and light bulbs burned out. The temperature of the water in the shower fluctuated constantly. However, the mattresses were comfortable and we slept well. When we checked in, the pool was locked. Front desk personnel told us they had just forgotten to unlock it in the morning. The most annoying feature, however, was that the complimentary continental breakfast was served off the lobby, which was not attached to the hotel. We had to walk outside several hundred feet up a hill to reach the breakfast room. One morning it was raining. We walked in the rain, however, many decided to drive up which caused a minor traffic jam at the entrance to the hotel. The view of Mackinac Island was nice. There is a small sand beach but the mess from the ducks and gulls kept me from walking out to the water. Ground floor rooms have cushioned chairs on the patio. Our second floor room had PVC chairs on the balconey which was larger than some I've seen at beackfront hotels. Front desk personnel were curt and sullen.

The Comfort Inn made our vacation wonderful. Our lugage was lost and the staff was so helpful and went out of their way to get us essentials. The hotel was on the beach, but we still enjoyed their very large indoor pool. We especialy enjoyed our private balcony and the sunsets. Thank you for returning our cell phone. Lisa
