I think other people have already covered it. If you like history, it's fine - if not, could be boring. Always weird and a little disturbing to read white European men's accounts of Native Americans, especially those of men on missions to save souls. The walk is pleasant and the bathroom was clean, a few utilitarian reasons to drop by.

Lovely trails, but the memorial is a shell of a building with some posters telling you about the life and death of Father Marquette. Not my cup of tea.

We stopped at the memorial on our way to the upper peninsula. A very nice recall of Father Marquette's contributions as a Jesuit priest and explorer. We took the hike which gives you more information about the area as well as a great view of the Mackinac Bridge. Good stop and worth it.

We stopped here after crossing the bridge to get pictures. Our daughter knew the history behind Father Marquette so it was fun for her to see the memorial and tell us the story as we walked the trail. Beautiful views of the bridge and a very easy trail to walk (distance.5 miles). Bathrooms onsite and low traffic area.

Took the time to drive to around the back country & located this gem. A walkable trail that gives insight to the settlement of the area & a few good views of the bridge. Nice place to stretch the legs after a long drive to the north. Peaceful, tranquil & interesting.

Took a couple of passes by to find this place. Look for the restrooms by the South end of the parking lot and follow the trail to the monument.

Good for a quick stop. If you walk along the trail you will probably want some bug spray!

Not only was this area pretty and provided time to get out on the trails, it provided a wonderful view of the bridge and lots of local knowledge about Father Marquette.

Beautiful scenery and a nice informational display. Off the beaten track. If you are looking to take a nice walk and have time on your hands, then worth the stop. Otherwise, I would use the time for other area attractions.
