We arrived very late at night. The front desk man looked tired, but he was extremely polite & helpful. The elevator up is a bit rickety so we were unsure about the place. When we saw the room, I breathed a sigh of relief. The room was great, with clean, comfortable bedding. There was a mini vanity kit (incl. ear swabs, nail file, eyeshadow applicator), which is a nice touch. There's also a free bottle of water - very thoughtful of them.

Our stay included a buffet breakfast. FYI, you're supposed to seat yourself. We waited for 10min before a waitress told us to sit wherever. Not a great food selection here - oatmeal, cereal, yogourt, scrambled eggs, fried potato things. Drinks are brought by your waitress. Coffee is terrible. Food is ok. It was free, so we didn't expect gourmet food.

Food aside, the room was a great value. I would stay here again.

Great hotel in a great location. Close to shopping mall, many restaurants and birch run, Frankenmuth area. Clean room with a comfortable bed. Cofee maker, fridge, microwave oven and continental breakfast bar included. Great place for the money. We would stay there again.

It's been years since we've stayed here and were pleasantly surprised with the updates. The room was bright and pleasant, the beds are heavenly. Since this is an older property, we realize that there is only so much you can do when it comes to the bathroom (typical smallish one with the sink inside the bathroom).

Our only complaint was that the heating system had one temperature - HOT!!!! No matter how far down we turned it, when it came on, it was like a blast furnace!!! We left the window open slightly the first night (mind you, it was in the low 'teens outside) and still we were uncomfortable. The second night, we took a chance and turned off the unit completely. Voila!! We slept well and didn't roast. I wonder if the cooling works the same way.

We would probably consider staying here again, but would look into other nearby properties first.

After leaving a motel in an unsafe, poorly kept area we came across this hotel, walked in to inquire about their rates and decided to stay. For a very reasonable price, we found a very well kept, very clean hotel. Our room felt homey and comfortable. Lots of channels to choose from. Very comfortable bed. Though we didn't use it because we didn't bring bathing suits there was a lovely pool and hot tub. As well there was a card to fill out inquiring about the cleanliness of the room- if we found the room to be very clean (which we did) we were to sign the card and the housekeeper would be given a dollar. What a great way to encourage a thorough cleaning of the room! We stayed here in order to do some shopping at the Prime Outlets at Birch Run and to see Frankenmuth and found it to be a reasonable drive to this area. We would highly recommend this hotel!!

It was hot when we stayed for three days at this hotel.
You can regulate your own room but there appears to be NO air conditioning or indeed even ventilation in the halls or elevators. Checking out I could find no luggage cart and after waiting for one to be brought to our room it took four tries before I could get on the elevator which is barely big enough for four people. They have no service elevator so twice the lift was full of the maid's cart. The third try a couple with their bags left no room for my cart. They put the ice and pop machines right beside the elevator so it was hot as the seventh circle of hell waiting and I could have wrung the sweat out of my shirt by the time I got out into the cool (80s) parking lot.
The elevator sits and takes three or four commands and several presses of the door close button before it makes a random tour of the floors. The slow routine of multiple button pushes to get it to move repeats at each floor.
There is a large post sign for the expressway - but only a small sign on the building by the front door that is set back and hard to see. Huge signs announce the name of the restaurant to fool you.
The beds were wonderful, the shower nice, and the room okay if you can overlook a few stains and smudges. The carpet was a poor choice that shows spills. The toilet was the cheapest smallest sort you can buy - not an elongated bowl and horrible for a tall huge man like me. Like using a tea cup. It pinched and the cheap domed plastic seat pops down like the bottom of a tin can does when you sit on it. Be careful because if you try to turn the TV one handed it will topple off the stand on your tootsies.
The associated restaurant is a sports bar. If you need non-smoking forget it. One of the cards in your room will say they have a breakfast buffet with breakfast meats. Don't believe it.
They have a continental breakfast with over cooked scrambled eggs, and the usual other stuff. The make it yourself waffle is the way to go.
The whole situation of this property can be seen in the pop-corn machine in the lobby. It never had any pop corn made in it the whole time we stayed there. Somebody had a good idea - but it would seem there is no strong manager to see the good things envisioned are actually done.

I travel for business on a regular basis and typically stay at Hamptons, Holiday Inns, Marriotts, or Courtyard and I'm appauled that Sheraton would put their name on this particular property. We were kept up most of the night by raucous noise, the room was overall dingy and deplorable, and when our issues were brought to the staff onsite, they were brushed off. Only after contacting management after checking out early were our concerns heard. We checked out after one night and stayed at the Hampton for a fraction of the price, with a much cleaner, more pleasant room. Avoid this property.

Overall I think this hotel is very nice. I attended an event at the Dow Event Center, and was looking over hotles in the area, because I would not have wanted to drive back to Detroit at 11pm. My first choice was the HoJo's right across the street from the Dow. All hte bad reviews in this site made me change my mind. I choose this hotel because it was only about 5 minutes down I-675 from the Dow.

The check-in was fast. Parking was very easy as they have several doors you can go in to, so you will not have to walk far to get to your room. The hotel seemed very clean. I had a room with direct pool access. The room itself was nice and clean. no complaints there. The bed was comfortable. The only bad thing is they do not have a complementary breakfast like most places. However for a nice room with a king size bed, only for $75.00 you can always go to the hotel restaurant, or the Bob Evans less then 1/2 mile down the street. This area also has a lot of stores very close by like Target, and the Saginaw airport is only about 10 or 15 minutes away.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to stay in Saginaw, especilly if going to an event at the Dow. I would also encourage the people who wrote bad reviews about this hotel in 2004 to give it another chance, as it is a nice hotel.
