My wife and I met the owners of Murphy's at a social event about a year ago, and decided to check out their establishment for breakfast ... and, as a result, we've made Murphy's our new go-to place for weekend breakfast and lunch!
Seriously - when you walk through the door, you feel like you've gone back to a time / place where the locals / regulars gather, chat with "their" waitresses every week, and enjoy very generous portions of non-pretentious food with friendly service.
I really enjoy their omelettes for breakfast; make sure you order the O'Brien-style spuds on the side. They serve amazing sliders as well.
We drive over 7 miles one-way to eat at Murphy's, and pass many decent mom-and-pop and chain restaurants on the way ... yes, in our opinion, Murphy's is THAT good!
Plus, the owners host or sponsor charity fundraisers on a regular basis ... supporting groups / causes ranging from the local HS marching band to a local interfaith food pantry that serves the needy.
If you want to dine in a swanky place with high prices, small portions, and snooty service, avoid Murphy's! But, if you want some honest food, prepared and served by nice people at resonable prices, check it out!
