“Exceeded all expectations”
Reviewed June 3, 2006

We were somewhat apprehensive when booking our stay at Springbrook Inn. We found it in a newspaper ad and looked it up on the internet. No matter how much research you do, oftentimes things are not what they were advertised to be. This was our first experience with a Bed and Breakfast Inn as well. The moment we approched the desk we were impressed. Kathy greeted us by name, and she had never met us! Instead of feeling like we were checking into a motel...we felt like we were home...only we didn't have to do any housework! The room was immaculate and furnished perfectly for a romatic get away. We had dinner in the their restaurant and the food was wonderful, the wait staff was excellent and our host dropped by to make sure we were enjoying our meal. The next morning our breakfast tray arrived outside our room at exactly 9:00 a.m. and was just as the picture in thier brochure shown. It was delicious and a refreshing change from the typical continental breakfast. In short, we loved theSpringbrook Inn and definitly will be going back to stay. It isn't often that expectations are exceeded in our lives. We can honestly say that the Springbrook Inn exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic place to escape the hectic pace of the work-a-day world, you can't pick a better place to stay. After just one visit, we consider Matt and Kathy friends. We can't wait to see our friends again.

What a perfect Night in Heaven!
My Bride and I stayed at Spring brook after saying our vows. From the moment we entered the door we were taken aback by the beautiful tasteful way the inn was decorated.
Then our hostess Kathy who was very pleasant and helpful greeted us. She showed us to our room. and briefly explained the hot tub and fireplace to me while my bride waited to be carried over the threshold. As fast as she explained everything she scooted away giving us our much-wanted privacy.
Later that day we had a chance to walk the grounds. What a beautiful setting!
The grounds are perfectly maintained a beautiful wooden gazebo, set right next to a pond with a waterfall.
As we walked around the pond a rather large school of Coy followed us.
Dinner was fabulous. and we were amazed by the choices. They have a full menu to choose from. Normally when dinner is included in the price of a room you get 3 choices.
I wish I could tell you how the deserts were but we didn't save room. But I can tell you that they looked delicious. Matt is quite a good chef.
I read one review that says the video selection was outdated. What do you want? A blockbuster in the lobby? Besides the movies are free and you don't even have to check them out you just go to the lobby and pick a movie off the shelf. Besides are you really going there to watch a movie?
The bed was very comfy. I slept like a log, and when I woke up in the middle of the night to get a drink, I couldn't resist getting into the hot tub for a few minutes.
Breakfast was a surprise. We knew that it would be at our door at 9:00 sharp. However we expected continental breakfast. Not eggs, bacon, hash browns, and fresh fruit. Yum Yum.
While we were only there for one night, we saw turkey, deer, and every sort of bird, and squirrel the region has to offer from our own private patio.
All and all we love this place and this is where we will spend our first anniversary.
You know a place is Heavenly when you float on air after your stay.
If your looking for a romantic setting, look no farther, this is the place.

Sincerely the Dreaming Honeymooners

HMMM...three of these reviews look like they were written by the owners of the inn. I stayed at the inn several times and was thoroughly disappointed the last time when the hot tub leaked and there was absolutely no reduction in the cost of the room. we stayed there just for that and it ruined the whole weekend. we will never come back, found it cheaper to buy a hot tub of our own and not pay the overpriced rooms, dinners and lack of things to do otherwise. hot tubs run $4000.00 weekend cost 450.00

To our defense concerning unhappy guests, when we bought the inn 5 years ago it was outdated and needed many repairs and much attention to detail. Over the last 5 years we have been very aggressive in addressing the most important problems. We stand by our prices and feel you definitely get value for money. We do strive in every way to make our guest's experience a pleasant one, and we always try to make sure any and all problems, if they arise, are resolved to our guests satisfaction. If we are not informed a guest is unhappy, we certainly can't fix it. If nothing is said at the time we assume you are happy.

Guests that stayed with us and have read the journals in each room cannot deny how previous guests think our inn is awesome, and rave about all the wonderful enhancements we have made in such a short time. Given the fact that every thing we do is times eight rooms. We have provided more amenities and extras than most B&B's. Guests always comment on our attention to detail and they look forward to returning to see what is new!

Although we know we can't be perfect and no way can we fulfill everybody's expectations. We do take pride in our business and will continue the necessary changes.

Please think about the effect it has on a small family run business when negative feedback is posted. We as owners, work 18 hr days, 7 days a week to ensure your stay is the best...and we certainly want you to feel that way when you depart.

This B & B is unique!! In addition to the beautiful rooms (all with a different decor), fantastic view (deer roaming outside our window), wonderful breakfast (including a great variety of food), it has a full restaurant. The restaurant serves food on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night and the food is the best you will find in the area (well worth waiting for the nights it is open). The menu offered a large selection of entrees. The hosts, Matt and Kathy could not have been more pleasant and accommidating. We could not have found a better place to stay. It was a wonderful get away and we cannot wait to go back. We recommend the Springbrook Inn to any one who is looking for a romantic get away!!!

Romance at it's best! There may not be much to do in this town but why would you want to leave your room? There is cross country skiing in winter, snowmobile, and snow shoe, and fish in winter. In summer you can swim, fish, hike! What is with you people who say there is nothing to do! the food there is fabulous. and yes slow but that is the point to enjoy a romantic dinner with your partner. We are returning for our 20th. they even play romantic music in the hallways, Cd player in room. We had no problem with the bathrooms or hot tub? Survice was wonderful!

I will start by saying, if you are just looking for some r&r and complete privacy you have found the right place. There is not much to do here(at least in the winter) but enjoy the surroundings of the room and some limited dining out in the area, which was exactly what we intended to do...so that being said there are some details about the room and accomidations that we did take exception to:
1) The restaurant is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday (Sunday maybe??) so you are forced to leave the premises.
2) The selection of movies they have to choose from is horribly outdated.
3) They WAY overcharge for beverages in the "guest" cooler. I can see wanting to break even, but $1.00 for a can of coke is ridiculous. Luckily it was cold enough out that we stored some beverages from the local convenience store on the balcony or we'd have gone broke trying to stay hydrated.
4) The bathroom was outdated and really doesn't have a proper exhaust so it always had somewhat of a sewage smell.
The breakfast was nice, a good variety and served to your room which is a great touch. The hot tub is also very nice and king size bed comfortable. The room decor and furniture cozy.
Our complaints, which may seem trivial, are what keep this bed and breakfast from being worth the price you pay. The attention to detail would add all the "ambiance" you would expect at a place that really does have the potential to be spectacular.

We visited Springbrook last month and while it was nice to have a hot tub in your room, overall it was a waste of money. You can get the same benefits at a local hotel without spending $250/night for a hot tub you only use 2 or 3 times a day for 20 minutes. The rooms were ok, nothing special. The food (we had one dinner there) was equivalent to any family-type restaurant, but the service between courses was extremely slow. I agree with the other reviews that there is little to do in town. Most of our activities took place with relatives living in the area
