Young, old, married, single, you will love the Air Zoo. From the vintage planes of WWII to the Space Exhibits to the Blackbird, there is something for everyone. Here's the greatest part, the museum has veteran volunteers who offer a great insight and personal history behind the planes and those who flew them. Price is reasonable and its conveniently located off the expressway.

This is an unbelievable GEM in Kalamazoo where you can see and enjoy a wide variety of aircraft and enjoy simulators, For kids and adults. If you are there on the right day you can fly in antique planes or World War Two bombers or fighters. It is located five minute off of the I 94 expressway near the Airport

This is a great attraction for all ages. It is a very large indoor display of historic airplanes and space vehicles combined with multiple rides and simulators for both very young kids as well as teenagers. There are also multiple smaller museum rooms focused on the history of special groups like female pilots, etc. You can plan on a couple of hours to a full day depending on your level of interest. A few years ago the NASA Space Museum in Jackson, MI was closed and combined into this museum which really enhanced the offering. I have no idea why it is in Kalamazoo but it is a first class attraction.

Brought the kids here before and it was worth it for 10.00 for a wrist band. Now it is 10.00 to get in. 16.50 if you want a wrist band to ride. It is interesting and we like the exhibits but for the children it is just to much to being them here any more. The staff had no social skills and looked half asleep.

It had been five years since I had seen the Air Zoo - wow have they grown. I was going to see one airplane - the XP-55 Ascender - for research purposes, but took a quick turn through everything. The new Space and rockets section is simply amazing! somewhere the have found some very skilled model builders and display teams. Kids will love it - and space historians will find it very complete.
Do not miss the Annex - the original Air Zoo - you can walk or drive - I'd drive if it was hot or looking like rain. The Ford Tri-Motor was giving rides - special weekend thing - but the exhibits inside are good for devotees of aviation history - do understand it is a restoration type facility now, so the planes are not arranged in historical order or even easy to get around - but that is understood.
