Quality Inn & Suites
Ranked #7 of 10 Hotels in Port Huron
Reviewed June 13, 2011

We have been staying at this hotel for a few years now. It was originally a Holiday Inn Express and has since changed to Quality Inn & Suites. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and breakfast is good. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are hospitality nights. There is a choice of white and red wine, and beer on tap, and usually pizza, tacos, etc. are included complimentary from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
The hotel is easy to access from the border bridge, and close to shopping and restaurants. There is golfing close by for those who wish to play - Black River Country Club, and further out is Four Lakes. There are several others as well.

Room Tip: Request the quieter parking lot (front side)

Right at the bridge from Canada. Very friendly and helpful staff. Like almost all Choice brand hotels, clean, safe, convenient location.

My husband and I booked a room for two nights thru AARP - great value!

Our first impression was not so great: We overshot the small signage into the parking lot and wound up on the toll bridge to Canada, where immigration officials kindly let us simply turn around without paying the return toll. Once checked in, our room had a malfunctioning toilet, but the front desk quickly changed our room.

Now settled in, we found the room clean and comfortable (see pictures). We had a wi-fi connection in the room and a coffeemaker, but no microwave or refrigerator. The bathroom was simple and clean, with a hairdryer, timer heatlamp, ample towels, and simple personal amenities (shampoo, lotion, soap). Our king bed was comfortable, and the heating worked nicely, and we did not need to engage the "fan" setting.

There was a pool, but the excessive chlorine burnt our eyes just stepping into the room.

The complimentary breakfast was good, with coffee, milk, juice, yogurt and fruit, as well as made-to-order waffles and a selection of cereals and also scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and bacon, and muffins.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I was definitely not impressed. The tv's are old and no variety to the channels. The fan in the bathroom was broken. When I put water in the iron it came out the bottom, as the iron was cracked, I asked for another one and never received it. Over all our stay was not horrible but we just were not impressed with the hotel.

I read the harder hitting reviews, and they were written when this hotel was a Holiday Inn or had just switched over to Quality Inn. This hotel was definately above average. The breakfast had a good selection, and included meat, which not a lot of hotels do that. The rooms were big enough to have a little leg room, and the staff was very nice. Also, the hotel was well maintained. The TV had a good selection of channels, and there are several good places to eat that are only a short drive away. Also, for being only a stones throw away from the bridge to Canada, you couldn't hear the truck traffic. There were a couple of knocks. It can be a little tricky getting in and out if you have never been there before. Also, it would be good if the little road back to the hotel were repaved at some point. All and all, it was a good stay and I would go back again.

We stayed here for one night on the way to Toronto. It is excellent for the service and location. Considering it's only $84 per night including breakfast, my wife praises me having made a smart choice. My daughter enjoys the swimming pool a lot. We definitely shall come back next time.

We found this place by accident. We originally booked into another hotel but they jacked the price up when we got there. So we ended up driving by the Quality Inn, I must admit it didn't look like much at first, but when we got inside ...... wow. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The lobby was spotless and our room was just as clean. They have an awesome breakfast (hot & cold) and it's free. The pool area was quiet and also very clean and well maintained. We have recommended this hotel to both family and friends and all have enjoyed it as much as we have. They treat you like family.
