Travel by boat several times a summer to Quay Street Brewery for lunch with friends. Food is consistent and the in house brews provide a selection that should satisfy most tastes. The lower patio is well shaded and provides easy access to the dock. Docking is straightforward, although the ladder might be a challenge if you are not good at ladder climbing, especially from a lower boat. Food won't knock your socks off but the location and the brews make up the difference. It's worth stopping in by land or by water..

Pick a nice, sunny day when you can sit on the upper patio. As you are right on the Black River, you watch all the boats heading out or returning from the St. Clair River. As they brew their own beer, give one a try. I had the Michigan Cream Ale and something Apricot. Anyway, they were both very good plus they offer a beer sampling which came in decent size glasses. We've had the white fish with parmesan crust, ribs, black bean burger, hamburger and fish and chips. The ribs had a mustard BBQ sauce which was different but they were very tasty. The black bean burger had a good amount of spice to give it flavour. They also served a good portion of fish chips. One of us opted for a salad instead of fries and they served it with a very refreshing lemon mint vinaigrette. Their fries are nice as they are done in a beer batter. They have nice selection of desserts. They have carrot cake without nuts or coconut (yeah!) Both times we were there, the owner came and spoke to us. He actually recognized us on our second visit. The restaurant itself is looking a little tired but he said they are going to do some renovations.

Our party of 4 were very satisfied with the service and the food. The view of the river with pleasure boats trolling by was the highlight of our lunch especially when the bridge had to be raised to let the yachts go by. I had the specialty sandwich of the day with a side salad and the bread on the Quay sub was excellent. One of my daughters ordered the same thing but with the caesar side salad. Her salad came on a larger plate which I would have preferred for my salad. You know how hard it is to cut up a salad without knocking some off your plate??? The other 2 daughters ordered quesadillas and they were huge. They came with guacamole and pico de gallo. Only advice I would give is to check your receipt carefully because our waitress 'forgot' to clear the table from the previous party so their bill was added to ours.

We ate here Aug 9th,2013. Busy spot. Boat races were on. Nice view of the boats and Marina as well.
Food was good. Beer battered fries which was different. My husband loved the fish and chips here.
Great service and fast as well. Would come here again and try something else on a good variety of food.

Stopped here for an early dinner after visiting the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse. Had a table outside and was able to watch the boats come in from the International Offshore Powerboat Race. Good service, good food and great sites from our table. Would go there again.
