Stopped in Fuel for an early supper. Atmosphere is nice. Old town style brick building with high ceilings and old wood floors. As much a bar as restaurant. It's not a white linen place, nor should it be. Wait staff was prompt and friendly. Beer selection was a nice mix of craft, domestic and imports. Wine selection was also notable with a nice selection.
I tried the BBQ which was very good. The brisket and pulled chicken will not disappoint. My better half had the nightly special which was a surprising smoked scallops with vegetable and horseradish mashed potatoes. The scallops were done perfectly and this interesting dish was as good as you will find in the area. The service was solid throughout the meal. I dropped my napkin and the waitress had a new one at the table before I even had a chance to ask. Very attentive but subtle. It was good for a 25% tip. The service was that good.
All in all a nice place that will be in Port Huron for the long haul. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant or to go there again. We will be going back for sure. I am rating this restaurant very good as I think an excellent review is for an over the top restaurant. Fuel is pushing that edge as it delivered a very solid dining experience. Well worth taking the time to visit.
