“Italian on a chilly night”
Reviewed February 18, 2014

Just a little bit of a wait when we arrived; Papa's had a couple of large parties going on. We were quoted about 10 minutes and that's about what it was. I did overhear the hostess tell an elderly couple shortly after we arrived that it would be at least 30. That was a wrong quote. Many tables were leaving and I'm sure that this couple was ready to eat.

We were seated in a nice booth; our server was friendly - though hard to understand. The bread before dinner was lightly and delicious. I had the Linguine with Clams (OMG it was good!) and my husband had something called a Sizzlini (??) served in a HOT skillet. We opted for no dessert; the meal was filling. I did think the portion was a tick small on my dish for dinner - though it did have some nice size clams.

“Great Italian food”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

We wanted to eat healthy, but not break the bank. We saw the sign for Papa Vino's and thought we'd try it. WOW!! The food was awesome, right down to the mini bread loaf that the waiter placed on our table along with Roasted Garlic and Olive oil for dipping it into. It was a cozy atmosphere and the food was divine. Anything with Angel-hair Pasta can be tricky or sticky...not here. They nailed it. Service was excellent by Jorge. Attentive but not hovering over us. We actually overheard another party REQUEST to be sat in his section. They had wine kegs and walls of colorful wine bottles displayed giving it a true Italian dining atmosphere. Will definitely go there again when in the area.

While dinig here is always nice, we like to carry out from here. The food portions are generous and delicious.

“Good local chain restaurant”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

Food is usually pretty good, but occasionally misses (the chicken parmigiana is usually dry and overcooked). There is a nice variety of choices on the menu and even if you eat here a lot (I stay in the hotel across the street very often), you will always find a good choice. Overall, the food is good -- it's not a great restaurant, but a very nice find.

On a side note, I've always found the hostesses (it's generally a hostess if there's even anyone at the front) to be very untrained and sometimes just plain rude. There's major turnover at that position and gives a bad first impression. You never get a smile or a sincere welcome. It's all business and very brusque. Service, on the other hand, is usually quite good. Sometimes when the place is busy, service suffers, but I've always enjoyed the servers who know their business.

Bottom line, this is a good place with lots of fans.
