Description: Pizza e Vino is Michigan's first restaurant to be certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (VPN) of Naples, Italy. We strictly adhere to the regulations set forth not only by the VPN, but also by long-standing Italian tradition, creating truly authentic Neapolitan-style pizza made from the finest ingredients and baked in a wood-burning oven. We are located in the heart of downtown Plymouth.

My husband and I first ate at Cellar 849 after our trip to Italy, and we were so thrilled to find a place close to home that makes pizza just like the pizza we loved in Italy! My favorite is the Buffalina. I just can’t get over how yummy it is. We have also tried many of the wines, and we haven’t found one yet that we don’t like. We like the atmosphere too, and the staff is always accomodating.

We had been avoiding this place because we thought it was strictly a generic wine bar. Since we enjoy trying may different wineries and labels, this didn't appeal to us. But we were advised by a transplanted Italian family to try the pizzas, which they found the best in the area. Four of us went on Labor Day weekend and were very pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was cozy and very friendly. We ordered a bottle of their in-house Barollo, which was much better than expected. Served in the restaurant for $21, it was a bargain. Four of us split an antipasto plate. Then we shared pizza and salad, all of which was very tasty. The pizzas are baked in a wood-burning oven, and are thin and light. We found that they were a bit larger than the standard individual pizzas in other restaurants. You can order a variety of standard combinations, including "white pizzas", or select your own toppings. The salads were delicious. Unless you are a big eater, splitting a salad and pizza will give you a good meal. The service was fast and extremely friendly. Kudos to the entire staff.

We will definitely go back. While not extensive, the menu includes a number of appetizers, salads, and the pizzas. You can buy any of their wines to go or order them in the restaurants where they are served in large glasses that enhance flavor and aroma. Whites to go are $14 per bottle, and most reds were $18. Even better, the price for wine in the restaurant is only a few dollars more. Unheard of when most restaurants triple the price of each bottle they serve. There are a few tables outdoors. Indoors has wooden tables/chairs and a long bar with seats. We would recommend this to anyone who wants a casual atmosphere, light meal, and friendly service.

This is pizza how the Neopolitans intended!!! From the salads, to the focaccia, to the wine and the delicious pizzas, everything is exquisite!! The ingredients are fresh and the dough is also made fresh every day-therefore the dough is light, crispy and the crust is bubbly and tasty. It was our second visit and won't be our last.
