The hotel's situated in a lovely location in a historic (Methodist) community a stone's throw from Lake Michigan. Beautiful houses in the location.

This hotel is nice but old. Too old to have very good upkeep, so it is a bit creaky and dusty. And pretty noisy with the din of the guests walking up and down the staircase being vibrated throughout the building.

Nice clean place. Opened in 1911 and they are still using the same furniture. Seriously, very dated, on purpose. After climbing to 3rd floor with luggage in hand we discovered the TV did not work. Went back to the lobby to report the problem. No way to call. We were told nobody was staying next door so we could watch TV there and return to our room to sleep. Not acceptable so we moved next door where the TV worked. Discovered we couldn't connect to the wifi. Went back to the lobby to get the password but was told it probably would not work real well because the 3rd floor was so far away. Tell me about it. It wasn't even my day to workout but climbing these stairs was a good substitute. The wifi was terrible to non-existant. Nothing urgent but I couldn't read my email, update Facebook or write this review. Did I mention the parking lot had room for 4 cars. All other guests got to park on the street. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was very good and worth the price (free). We did not explore the 1911 Restaurant for dinner because when we asked to see a menu there were no prices. I assumed it was not complimentary like breakfast and if you have to ask the price you shouldn't be there. So, we weren't. Oh yeah, we were required to leave $5 deposit for each room key we had in our possession. The bed was comfortable, the shower and toilet worked therefore the rating got up to average.

Room Tip: Don't let them find out your age because I think the older you are the higher floor you get.

We spent two nights here and loved it. The place was very clean and wonderfully decorated. It was quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was good. The dining room wasn't opened yet for dinner for the season so I can't speak to that. It's very historic and beautiful.

Stayed at this beautiful Inn recently. Gorgeous rooms, clean and inviting. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Food is amazing! Would be a great venue for weddings, reunions or just a romantic get-away. Love the big fire place in the lobby. Dining room is sensational. Out side porch is comfortable and has beautiful views. Will be frequent guest here when in the area!

Room Tip: We stayed in hot tub room third floor. Beautiful. spacious. gas fire place. i would recommend.

We recently spent time at the Inn and enjoyed our stay very much! The Inn is so charming and staff very friendly. The fireplaces in the room and the lobby was an extra bonus! Also, this Inn is close to shopping, dining and all local sightseeing!
