Description: City Park Grill, one of Petoskey’s oldest buildings, was originally constructed in 1875. McCarty Hall, as it was then known was a malesonly billiard parlor that offered cigars and “intoxicating beverages.” Today, City Park Grill maintains a loyal clientele with house-made cuisine, focusing on locally procured produce, meats and lake fish, an awardwinning wine collection and house-made biscuits straight from the oven

It has the old town antique look and was very charming. The food was great too! They have outstanding salads and drinks. I usually get a fish dish when we visit this establishment, they have an excellent pork chop as well.

City Park Grill offers a well-rounded menu with great quality items. The fish entrees were delicious as was the beef. Salads are great too. They also serve pasta dishes and hamburgers. A favorite restaurant of locals and visitors. The history makes it even more entertaining.

This is a popular spot, great for families and very good for all the basics. Our server was very friendly, our cocktails very well made. We tried the sampler appetizer and it was overall good, albeit mis-proportioned: there was more calamari than you'd expect from a full order but then just one small egg roll cut in half off to the side. Three dips came--salsa, hummus, and a bleu cheese dip--but the only thing to go with any of it was a pile of tortilla chips. Not real well conceived as a sampler. A chicken entree was fine. The jambalaya had really good seasoning, good spice, and a good amount of chicken, shrimp, and sausage but all of it plus the rice and veggies floated on a pool of grease (from the sausage I am guessing). I pointed this out to our server when she cleared the plates--noting that the dish was good but you couldn't eat it all without downing lots of grease--and she said she'd tell the chef but nothing more was said. We ordered the berry crisp for dessert, only to get an under-sugared and rather bland crisp with a couple peach slices and a few apple pieces--not the berry crisp we'd been shown on the dessert tray (which had only three options to begin with). So . . . it's okay but go for burgers and such and you might be better off.

Stopped here for lunch one day. It was busy, but we were able to get seated within a few minutes. Once seated, this bar/restaurant has a very warm, relaxing atmosphere. Our server was very nice, and the food and cocktails good. Not overpriced at all. Fresh, hot rolls were brought to the table throughout the lunch. We found the entire experience to be very nice. The entire staff here was welcoming. We will definitely dine here again!

Wonderful and historic restaurant! If you enjoy hamburgers - make sure to have the BBQ bacon burger, it was AWESOME! Also had the City Park club and was not disappointed.
