Great beach to see the sunrise and sunset. The park is nice and the campground is good if you like more traditional camping.

I took my husband here for his first camping trip . . . ever! We booked a space near one of the boardwalk bridges to the beach. Site 137. The spacing between campsites was what you would expect at most other sites. The site had a blacktop paved drive for your car or camper. Site had a fire pit and picnic table with electricity. The only issue we had was that it was a little bit of a walk to the modern bathrooms/ shower building. But that was our issue for trying to get close to beach. Park rangers do come through and patrol which I liked. We were at Tannery Creek side of campground. Park does allow dogs, and there were a lot visiting when we were there. Luckily they all seemed to be experienced camping pups, since they didn't bark at every noise or person walking by. The beach really is the highlight of this park. Sunsets are fantastic. We took our camping chairs and a folding table out to the beach to enjoy coffee and a board game on the beach, and of course some evening snacks to watch the sunset. We explored downtown Petoskey which was so close to drive too, or bike to. The beach also has a snack bar with bathrooms on the beach, but this is located nearer the other camp area of the park. The park also provides firewood for sale "inside" the park. $3 per bundle. Just loved the vibe of the town. Can't wait to get back there next summer.

Simply beautiful! The beach is well maintained. The sand is plentiful, lots of room for all. We found Petoskey stones! The bathrooms are very clean. You can buy simple drinks and food at reasonable prices. The kids swam and built sand castles. The adults read, swam and walked. We just spent the day beach side, but there is a campground. It is quiet and peaceful. Sailboats in the distance. It was hard to leave.

There's tent camping to RV camping. It has a couple miles of hiking trails through the woods (including easy to hard sections, they tell you on the map which). Easy to navigate around. There's a beach with a great view of the bay! It's not too far from civilization - around half way between Petoskey and Harbor Springs, cute towns! Nice staff, information about the area in their booth. The camp sites were decent, some better than others but it's camping... our spot was a walk from the bathrooms but not bad, and when you reserve online you can check out maps of the campgrounds and pick your spot among what's available!
I loved the beauty of the park and its trails and beach. I also loved how it's close to a couple towns to shop at/ check out. AND I loved how it's near to other Nature Preserves/ Trail of Trees attraction. It's not too far from the Mackinac bridge if you'd like to day trip there, or to Charlevoix/ Fisherman's State Park - another cute, pretty place.

Sand dunes and pretty beach with lovely, clear water. Be careful where you step, though; we found a fish hook and broken glass in the sand.

There are nice, marked, easy to hard trails to hike in the woods next to the campground also.
