This is a great hotel in every way....except for the beds. Hard as a rock. Everything else was perfect. Helpful staff, clean, spacious, and a great view. The food at the state park was wonderful. We overpaid at the park and the ranger even sent me a refund...all the way to Oklahoma City.

Spent one night here on the shore of Lake Superior. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. Place looked to be brand new. Beautiful fireplace and view from the lobby. Great continental breakfast. Nice pool and sauna.

This is a really nice hotel. Both the rooms and the common areas are extremely clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is wonderful. We asked for a lakeview room and our room had a balcony that overlooked Whitefish Bay, not more than 50 feet from the water. Families with kids seemed to like to beach and also the hotel pool. The bed was very comfortable. The suite rooms are not much more expensive than the regular rooms and are very spacious with a comfortable couch and chair, a coffee table, a microwave and refrigerator, and a table and 2 additional chairs. The only downside is there aren’t many places to eat in Paradise, but the hotel is great.

I thought this hotel was newly opened. IT is so clean and looks brand new. It is actually 10 years old. The staff was incredibly friendly, from the person refreshing the very nice breakfast bar, to the lady doing the gardening. Friendly and helpful. The views from the lakeside rooms are extremely nice. Whitefish Bay and the windmill farm in Ontario is visible on a clear day. Overall excellent experience at this hotel.

I could not have been happier with this hotel. My teenage son and I traveled to Paradise from southern lower Michigan to visit Whitefish Point Bird Observatory and Tahquamenon Falls in late April and booked a room based on other good reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. The staff was was friendly and knew the area. WiFi in our room was picked up instantly by our laptop and the room was very clean with a great view of Lake Superior. I agree with the other person who said it is worth paying extra for the lake view. Make sure to walk down to the sandy beach behind the hotel. The continental breakfast was very nice (hard boiled eggs, waffle maker, bagels, donuts, coffee, juices, oranges etc) and was set up by 6:15 am on Saturday. It is the most expensive place to stay in Paradise but the proximity (15 minute drive) to Whitefish Point and Tahquamenon makes it was well worth the extra money.

The rooms are more than we expected! Staff was wonderful and the view's were outstanding! We went for a long weekend with our sleds. Everyone was helpful and it was a very quiet stay considering they were almost sold out!

This is a really nice hotel -- a great choice -- especially for the remote location where it is. While I was at the registration desk, I commented something like ....... "you must have just opened in the last year or two, it looks and smells really new." And then the desk person told me that they had been there for 11 years. So that tells you all you need to know about the appearance and maintenance there.

We had the far end room (opposite the lobby end) on the second floor, right by the building entrance, and on the lake side with a balcony. A perfect location. I recommend you spend an extra $20 or so for a balcony view of Lake Superior -- it is definitely worth it.

The room itself was very large and clean, and so was the bathroom. Very nice breakfast area also. We were really pleased, and wished we would/could have stayed a second night.

There are two great attractions in the area: (1) Tahquamenon Falls (beautiful), and the brewpub there is very good also, and (2) the Whitefish Point complex with the lighthouse, Shipwreck Museum, etc.

We should also mention that the best place in Paradise to eat is Brown's Fish House, about a mile west of town. It's both a restaurant and a fish market. It's only open when owner Buddy Brown, a commercial fisherman, has fresh fish from Lake Superior. The interior is pleasant, with nifty paintings of local fishing boats. The whitefish comes fried or broiled. Not a fancy place (don't judge it by the outside) but really good whitefish on the inside. It was a busy place the evening that we were there in July 2009.
