This is the best hotel to stay if you ever go to that area. Besides the beautiful view around the hotel, the staffs in the hotel are most friendly workers I have met. They help you in any way they could to make your stay comfortable. I will go back for sure. jade

This is one beautiful hotel on Lake Superior, near Tahquamenon Falls State Park. The staff went out of their way to provide an excellent stay. We had a top floor room with a balcony offering a spectacular view. All the amenities, too (microwave, refrigerator, etc.) Very quiet for being at capacity. A bit pricey (over $150), but worth it.

This hotel was nice but I think some of the other reviews were a little too generous. The room itself, the pool, hot tub and breakfast were average at best. By 10 p.m., the adult swim hour, the pool and hot tub looked a little scuzzy. The breakfast selection was standard, eggs, sausage, pancakes, sausage--nothing extra special. To me the cost of the room really is for the view. Watching the sunrise over the lake was breathtaking! Also, compared to the other lodging selections in the area, this hotel seems 5-star. The staff was really friendly and knowledgeable about restaurants, shops and activities in the area and the town of Paradise itself seemed welcoming. We greatly enjoyed the Toonerville Trolley Riverboat Tour in Newberry (about 35 mins away).

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our hotel. We do strive to make sure all of our guests receive the best care and experience that we have to offer. Our breakfast we serve is the usual hotel fare with a hot side. I'm not sure what else you were looking for but we are always open to suggestions and would try to accommodate you as much as we possibly can with the means that we have without being a restaurant. This is a free amenity to our hotel guests, but there are a couple of restaurants in town that serve breakfast with more of a variety.

Thank you again for giving us this wonderful review and we hope that the next time you are in the area you will give us the pleasure of having you as our guests.

We were in the middle of nowhere in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan visiting several of the beautiful waterfalls. There are small towns here offering mainly motel accommodations. The Magnuson was a pleasant surprise. A nice hotel property right on Lake Superior. The room was clean, spacious, offered good toiletries, microwave, coffee maker and a little refrigerator. The staff was very friendly, helpful and got us in our room early (and they were sold out). If you are visiting Tahquamenon Falls, this is the place to stay.

We have wanted to see the Upper Peninsula before, and this was our first trip there. We found the hotel in an online search and we were so impressed by the facilities. Our room on the 3rd floor was fabulous - comfortable bed, nice couch, TV, etc. But, the best part was the view of Whitefish Bay from the deck. We were thrilled with the changing views of the water, from the beautiful sunrise colors, to the evening twilight, and then to seeing thousands of stars overhead at night. The hotel staff are all very friendly, the pancake machine at breakfast was a lot of fun, too, but the setting of this place is worth the drive. It truly is Paradise!!

Room Tip: 3rd floor rooms look out over the water. We loved being up there, but I think all the rooms would h...

We had reserved a room on the lake. We had a balcony with a fantastic view. We enjoyed hearing the waves lapping at the shore. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room had a fridge and microwave. Also the room had a sleeper sofa and was clean and spacious. There was a nice pool but we did not have an opportunity to use it. The cost of the room was a little higher than we had been spending but I thought it was a good value.

We meet two other couples here every year for a long weekend. They stay longer but we can only make it for 2 or three nights. We always have a great time! The hotel always feels like we are going back home top a familiar place.

We have a walkout room on the bottom floor and all of us sit having evening cocktails and snacks while watching for freighters going by on Lake Superior. Some are brave enough wade out into the cold water, although it was fairly warm this year. A dip in the pool or some time in the hot tub is always a relaxing time and sometimes we just hang around the couches just off of the check in area.

We like the area because, most of the time, you can walk right down the middle of main street if you want to. There are no crowds, very few tourist traps, but there are a few good restaurants. Nothing fancy but good whitefish and such.

We'll see you there next July!!

Room Tip: We love the bottom floor walk outs but the upper rooms on the lake side have great views from small...
