I had booked two rooms at this hotel under a special promotional rate for New Year's Eve. Two days before I was due to check in, I was contacted via email by the assistant general manager stating that my rate would not be honored due to it being a black out date. If this was truly a black out date, why was I able to make the reservation online? The AGM didn't even offer an apology, just said my rate was going to change. I emailed the gentleman back expressing my shock and dismay at the way the situation was handled, this has never happened before and I feel it was horrible customer service. My email was forwarded to the General Manager, who emailed back stating the same thing. Isn't the Marriott brand supposed to have the best customer service of all hotels? After all, they pride themselves on their "Spirit to Serve." I was so disappointed I ended up canceling my reservation without actually staying, and will never give them my business in the future. This experience completely turned my stomach as far as this property is concerned!

My wife is in the hotel biz and we are extremely critical of the places we stay. As for this place, it is a must stay. First the negatives. The modern decor is not to my liking, the bed and couch are a little to firm for my liking. Now for the good things. The hotel is 5 months old and still has the "new" smell to everything. We arrived in town very early and the front desk manager, Greg, said an early check-in would be no problem. The room is extremely clean, the sitting area, desk with sliding partition and the bed area make for a well laid out design for a hotel room. The clothes closet is a real door closet and not one of those sliding mirrored door things. The bathroom is of larger than average size. The class enclosed shower, not a tub with a shower, is wonderful with very good water pressure. The heat/air conditioning is controlled by a real thermostat so there's no guessing on setting the temperature. We will check out the breakfast in the morning, but if it's like everything else in this hotel, I'm sure it will be wonderful.
