“Wonderful meal, great service”
Reviewed January 18, 2012

Our party of 4 were all pleased with their menu selections - the plates were well presented and the server was friendly and knowledgeable. We were celebrating a birthday and all shared the complimentary chocolate dessert. It's very hard to understand the negative feedback on some of the reviews, we were all very satisfied. Prices were not out of line.

“Ran out of Mayo?”
Reviewed January 11, 2012

We ate here with a group on a business lunch. One ordered a sandwich with mayo. When the order was delivered she was told that they were out of mayo. (and, proceeded to tell that they ran out of all sides the night before as well except for french fries). She was not told of this prior to the meal being delivered and wasn't offered anything as a subsitute. Another person ordered a salmon salad with no dressing. The salad came with dressing and she did not end up eating any of it. The lobster grilled cheese was burned. Several other items were described as 'so-so' by the others in attendance.

“Staff needs to be better trained and more attentive”
Reviewed December 26, 2011

After reviewing the menu online, we were anxious to try this restaurant. First, the waiter didn't know what Campari was, then after describing the ingredients in a Negroni and ordering it up, he asked whether I wanted it neat or on the rocks. The shrimp and pistachio wonton appetizer was tasty with the teriyaki sauce, but one would be hard pressed to define either of the two flavors. My friend was delayed in traffic, and the waiter offered bread but didn't bring it until 20 minutes after she arrived, then had to be asked twice for butter. I ordered a macademia nut crusted walleye but spit out the first bite as the taste was off, likely on the verge of going bad. The other entree was steak which was very well prepared. The perch I ordered as a replacement was tasty, although the coating was soft; if it was sauteed, there was too much batter; if fried, it was done at too low a temperature. Then the waiter could't split the bill correctly as my friend had a coupon. The atmosphere was sophisticated but what I suspect were fungus gnats from the potted poinsettias keep flitting around us and our plates. This place certainly has the potential to be very good but did not fulfil that on this occasion.

“You can do way better for the money”
Reviewed December 22, 2011

Noisy and overpriced. The room itself and the bar are attractive, but there is no sound absorption. The happy hour is decent priced, but no one is there.
