I usually just get the sushi to go or pick up the prepackaged sushi. But when I say prepackaged you can tell it's fresh and hasn't been sitting there. The price is very affordable and you don't feel guilty grabbing a few extra rolls. If we are eating there, the mini sushi restaurant is in the back and there aren't many tables but we usually sit at the bar. I was confused the first time I went here because I was unsure of what to do. You will see a menu and a paper form to fill out how many/what kind of rolls you want. Browse the menu fill out the form with the pens provide and then you give the form to the actual chefs behind the bar. After that you can sit at the bar and watch them make it! It does take a little long but it is so worth it! So good and the spicy mayo is delicious. When you are done eating you take that form and go up to the store cash register at the front to pay for your meal. A little confusing but once you've been there a few times it's easy.

This is not really a restaurant. Tucked on the side of this Japanese supermarket is a lunch counter. There are only a few booths but the food is served fast and reasonably priced. No waiters: your order goes directly to the chef; miso soup and water are self-service; and the bill is paid at the supermarket's cashier. The sushi is super fresh. If you are looking for a quick and tasty sushi lunch (there is usually no lines), this counter is highly recommended.

This place has the best sushi with great value. We often visit this restaurant. Recently, this place has been very crowded. I guess many people have discovered this hidden gem. Do not expect fancy seating. It is a simple restaurant with good food. Also note that it close at 7 pm.
There is a Japanese Supermarket within this restaurant. You can get excellent seafood with high quality.

My wife visits at least once a week for Japanese food. We are very lucky to have such a Japanese supermarket close by.

I've been shopping here for years, and the gaigin customer count is way up for a reason. You can buy staples for Japanese cuisine or help yourself to pre-packaged sushi/ ramen/ bento items available at a reasonable cost. The fish selection is varied and fresh, and the check-out lanes are quick and efficient. Produce prices are high for even commonly available vegetables, but many of the Japanese nationals who shop here are accustomed to high prices and don't flinch at a dollar for green onions. They have a nice selection of sake along with some beer and wine offerings, and don't miss the frozen gyoza, mochi, and other traditional items.
As is common in Japanese culture, children shopping with their parents are on their best behavior. So if your two year old can't help but run around and handle the merchandise, talk loud and point and do the candy tantrum at the check out, maybe s/he should stay in the car with dad while you shop, Just my two cents, YMMV.
There is a small seating area behind the self service counter-- I have always bought take-out items wiht my groceries, and not had time to stop and check it out. Please see other reviews for details on this aspect of their business.
