Since the Red Timbers burned over 20 years ago nobody seems to have made a go of this location. About 5 yeas ago Leo's Coney Island tried to go upscale with a bar and some dinner entrees.
Along comes Tommy's. I went there to pick up a Gyros sandwich yesterday and I was impressed. The sandwich was delicious and much larger than any of its competitors. On Saturday and Sunday they have a brunch with a variety of Greek dishes, the breakfast items you would normally find as well as an Omelet Station. This is now on my radar when I want a weekend brunch.
The atmosphere s more of a sports bar than a Greek Restaurant with all of the big TV's and the various sporting events available to watch.
For the first time in years I believe we have a successful restaurant at this location.
