On a hot summer evening, our group of 23 adults and teens decided to try the Handsome Hobo Pizzeria, located next to the Hobo Tavern in Muskegon. Although I haven't been to the Tavern, many in our party had and were very pleased with the food and the service so we decided to try the sister restaurant, The Handsome Hobo. Although we didn't have a reservation, a few of us arrived a few minutes early and requested seating for 23 adults on this Monday evening in July. The hostess and manager were very accommodating (and never broke a sweat over such a large group) and quickly seated us in a semi-private area. The friendly staff was quick to greet us and the rest of our party as soon as they arrived, both the adults at the larger bar-height table and the young adults next to us. The quality beer on tap and the red wine were delicious, as were the breadsticks, cheesy breadsticks, and goat cheese appetizer. (First try of the goat cheese - I'm in love!). We ordered over 8 pizzas and they arrived at our tables quickly and were so delicious, words cannot describe. We ordered a few gourmet pizzas including Hawaiian, Marguerite, Queen Marguerite (with Balsamic Vinaigrette drizzled on top), plus a few traditional pizzas.... YUMMY !! Our group was seated, served, and out in less than 1 1/2 hours, which is fantastic when you consider we did not have a reservation for such a large group, people arrived at different times, cocktails, appetizers, and pizzas were served. Yes, we will definitely visit again.... soon.
